The CyphstressDeadlocked OnlineEscape roomVirtual The production quality is really good! I managed to finish it in a little over 2 hours as a single player. They did a great job with the clue mechanism for an online experience, many of the clues or feedback were exactly what I needed. There was one part that having at least 2 screens would have been helpful but it’s doable with one person/screen. I do wish parts of these were print and play however because I wasted so much time trying to draw things like grids that felt like a bit of a time waste. They utilized a lot of different mediums and pages which was fun, but there was just a lot of jumping and open tabs because you never knew what you would have to go back to. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
The Lost TempleCU Adventures In Time And Space - OnlineEscape roomVirtual Fun, but their other online game Floor 13 was a lot stronger story wise and puzzle wise. There were some great puzzles, especially the final puzzle. A lot of set out though.
Spirit Seekers Ireland: Clare AbbeyOnline Escape Rooms Ireland - OnlineEscape roomVirtual The set was great, a cool mix of real world footage and cool scenery. The puzzles themselves were tricky, made harder by the number of areas to explore. I recommend making note of EVERYTHING you find in each area so you don’t waste too much time backtracking. A lot of finding in the game, some which I loved, some of which was frustrating because it felt like I found some things purely by chance. I highly recommend doing this with a group because there is so much to explore and find.
The Beach BarOnline Escape Rooms Ireland - OnlineEscape roomVirtual Probably my favorite that I have played from them. The set is so much fun and every puzzle made sense or fit the theme perfectly! I managed to finish it with one player and I think if you had small group playing online together it would be good as well. The ending was definitely my favorite part, the last puzzle is a great note to end on.
Floor 13CU Adventures In Time And Space - OnlineEscape roomVirtual Very fun and super creative! They really took full advantage of both the tech and paper mediums well. I managed to complete everything as a Team of 1 in about a hour although having at least another person would be helpful because there are a lot of different areas you can explore. Probably one of the best online escape experiences I have done because it feels like I am in a traditional in-person escape experience.
D'vile's Curio ShoppeMystery Mansion Regina - OnlineEscape roomVirtual There’s a lot to love and more than a few things not to like about this room. A lot of super fun and creative puzzles that really fit well and made sense. On the other hand, WAY too much video with unnecessary commentary or the guy pretending to be scared that really has a negative impact on my experience. A few issues with puzzles where I had the code and then had to toggle (ie: from S to T and then back to S) to get them to open or where the placement wasn’t entirely clear. The set was very cool however, especially the more you were able to explore.
Escape from Extinction IslandClue Cracker - OnlineEscape roomVirtual Cute. Very much just going from screen to screen solving the puzzles with videos thrown in, some that were necessary to watch and some that just added to the world building. None of the puzzles were too difficult. Definitely get your money’s worth and seems well-suited for keeping your kids entertained with a little puzzle solving.
The Great Gnome RescueEscape Room Herndon OnlineEscape roomVirtual Heavily puzzles over immersion or the story. Each page was just a story wasn’t always necessary to solve the puzzle and then the puzzle itself. It was fine for a free game but it felt more like I was just doing puzzles because the story really didn’t add much.
Under SiegeOnline Escape Rooms Ireland - OnlineEscape roomVirtual Very well-themed puzzles, overall a fairly easy game but fun nonetheless. All of the Viking decor was cool!
Murder MotelEnigma Live Escape RoomsEscape roomVirtual Very gory without being scary or having jump scares, the optional music really added to the ambiance as well. A lot of number and letter codes which meant a ton of guesswork in figuring out where each went. Ending was fun as well.
