Chernobyl
Nerd Escapes

Enjoyed this room a lot. This was my 11 year old son’s favorite room! Yes you are locked in a closet in the beginning but they are upfront about that and make sure you are ok with it. Cool use of space and the story is neat. Enjoyed the Russian elements too.

Our group did not like this game. It was incredibly frustrating because of the mesh style that’s not a divide and conquer but rather a get a little bit of info and spend a while messing with it before giving up and moving on to something else only to realize you only had part of it and then do that about 5 more times. Also some of the main clues did not help you escape but just filled in pieces of the story which is cool I guess but also kind of feels like a red herring.

Really fun room and different from others we’ve tried. Only criticism is it seemed there weren’t enough puzzles and some felt a little effortless, like barely even a challenge. Which overall meant it felt a bit easy compared to others. But highly recommend cause it’s a very cool experience.

Room had a small footprint but a neat concept. Puzzles were different and unexpected. There was a good flow. There were not as many puzzles as we expected; we were surprised to have escaped because we felt there was more to go. The owner/our GM was awesome. Price was great too. Worth checking out!

Good but not great. Small footprint. Most puzzles were pretty good but one in particular was annoying. Another puzzle relied heavily on eyesight which was a non-brain related challenge for us. Mesh style room. Worked well for our group of 4. This is a good location with well thought out rooms and good themes. Overall we had fun!

This was the 13th room our family did together. We have since done many more. This wasn’t the most extravagant or largest room for sure, but we enjoyed it! Would recommend!
Hollywood Heist

Overall this room ranks in the bottom 3 rooms our group has done. We were frustrated with some of the puzzles and quality and feel of the room. It seems like it was a pretty good room a number of years ago but we just did not enjoy it. The host/owner seems to take pride in the room being”hard,” but it’s not really hard in a satisfying or challenging way. There are just many, many boxes and locks and you just have to figure out codes till you get to the end. We probably would have enjoyed it a lot more but it felt like the host did not want us to win, and therefore it felt a little adversarial. It’s really frustrating ti get stuck on a puzzle and then ask for a clue that ends up only leaving you more confused. Also, red herrings….
Mansion Murder

We saved this room for last at this venue because it was supposedly the most difficult. We did need some hints in this room but probably more due to malfunctioning puzzles and poor design compared to other rooms we completed there. It was fun and we all enjoyed it, but it was no one’s favorite in our group of 4. One puzzle in particular was super annoying and didn’t seem to be working correctly. It’s a fine room if you’re an enthusiast and want to complete as many rooms as possible that are good/fine rooms. But I wouldn’t choose this as a first room for a newbie, and nothing about it stands out as great. It’s just Ok.

Lots of reading required. Good communication imperative. None of the puzzles are hard at all. Solve riddles, divide and conquer, and don’t ignore any piece of info you are given. If you do all of that it’s almost too easy but the challenge is in executing the above. Good concept and very well maintained props and room. Some technical elements but mostly locked boxes/drawers and finding keys or combinations to lead to the next one.
Pirate's Plunder
Ready-Set-Escape

We enjoyed this from. It’s well thought out and themed well. Worth playing. Probably pretty decent room for newbies. It’s enjoyable but not super memorable. Not one of our favorites but OK for what it is.
