Chaos at Calamity Mine
Tricky Escape Clacton
Escape room
IRL
A very fun room. I’ve never payed a mine room before and I enjoyed this very much. The story line was quite straight forwards as you had to escape the mine and there wasn’t a development from there but there were enough puzzles to keep us having lots of fun. You need good communication with your other team members in order to escape this room and all puzzles are easily understood, no red herrings. The hint system is always very helpful at this company and the game masters always take the absolute best care of you which I love

I completed this room as a group of two and with it being their hardest room I was worried that we would not escape. This was not the case!! The room was design perfectly and led us onto the next puzzle easily. Even if you had a puzzle which you could not solve instantly when you found the clue, you knew what to refer back to. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING. In this room has a purpose for being there which I loved and there were no red herrings. Our games master (Lily) was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the room which was refreshing to see and we managed to talk for a while about escape rooms afterwards. There is a glimpse of a live actor however that is only momentarily at the start and is not scary in any way at all. Parking was efficient as it is listed on their website. I would suggest people to do this room if you are in the area and even if you aren’t… travel to it!!
Le Secret Du Canal Lachine [The Secret of the Lachine Canal] [Outdoor]
A/Maze Atwater

We did this while we were killing some time in Montreal before our flight. I must say if you want to explore the city in a different way or are visiting this is a fantastic option to pick. You got to really work your way round the canal area of the city and truly explore Montreal’s history. We did not have a booking and just turned up and the GM was very accommodating to us and was very in character. We loved the information which they provided us. We must admit that some of the tasks make you look like you are lost but that added to the element of stories when we found the answer for us. I recommend this activity to anyone in Monteral for a fun day out. Took us 2 hours and we stopped for about 15 minutes for a coffee in between. Due to walking around there is a somewhat physical activity however there are always moments which you could should you wish to.

This was the second game which we played at this location and we throughly enjoyed it! It was such a fun room. The set design was very modern and the games were all very clever. I don’t want to say too much as I wish to not spoil it, however this game has a lot of thought put into it and I recommend it for everyone. I am not the biggest fans of rooms based around technology or electronics however this was excited so well that I felt like I was truly part of the experience! You must try this room for a different experience

Playing this as a group of two was challenging but for all the good reasons. I have to say this is one of my favourite rooms which I have completed to date. The set design is good but the puzzling and the ideas I really enjoyed. There’s a mixture of puzzles which are helpful as you don’t get stuck on padlocks and the same things. There is an element of a live actor at the start and during the room but nothing for people to be scared about or worried. Our GM was extremely helpful in reassuring us of this. The thing which I enjoyed most about the room is that they took the idea and developed it further with actors and props to make you feel fully immersed!
The Cutting Room
Locked In Edinburgh
Escape room
IRL
We did this room as a group of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have played locked in games before but in Glasgow not on Edinburgh. We got slightly lost for the location but once we walked through the centre we were greeted with our games host. All of the game hosts at this venue seemed really engaging and passionate about their job, which made all the difference. Although this game did not have live actors you are still facing a fear factor in the room. The room was spacious and we never felt cramped and we were able to split off and solve different tasks in the room. I believe there was every possible lock I have ever encountered at this room. It has an electronic element but was not a heavy room on technology. The story line flowed well and we constantly knew what our aims were to get out of the room. I recommend everyone to do this room, it was an energetic fast paced room with lots of fun throughout! I can’t wait to go back and do another room at this company.
North Pole Panic

We throughly enjoy this room as 2 adults in December (with an avid Christmas lover) so it would be perfect for a child around December. Or if you want to play it in September like us then why not😂. We played 5 rooms there and this was my favourite. However I am Christmas bias. Puzzles weren’t the most challenging but all of them were fun and every inch was decorated in the spirit of Christmas. Recommend for any Christmas lover or with young children.
Room 13
Escape Live - Southend
Escape room

A great room. A nice theme of horror with being less scary than I thought, which I was thankful for. Some rooms just become about the scare factor but no puzzles. This room was good, had a good flow to the puzzles and every set piece I thought was used to aid the game and experience.

Overall was my top game which I’ve done so far. The theme was cohesive throughout and had a clear story. I was never stuck on a puzzle I had to just think differently, everything made logical sense. A perfect mix between electronic and manual locks!

We played this game as a group of 2. It was doable as a group of two and there was never a moment where we felt like we needed more hands. The room had a nice flow to it and the set design was wonderful. It had a lot of detail to it and time has clearly gone into the room. There was a slight technical difficulty with one of the puzzles and the games master was efficient in sorting this. I played both of their rooms and I preferred this room, the story was very clear and all tasks leading to our escape was evident.
