Agent 13
13th Gate Escape
Escape room
IRL
Started out strong but came to a grinding halt once we hit the broken puzzle. Even once the game master triggered the puzzle for us after proving that we solved it properly, the next step was anything but intuitive. Then it got better again until the end. At the very end, there are several unrelated puzzles mashed together and basically made us just not care anymore. We felt we were fighting the room rather than playing it. Which is unfortunate, because we LOVED the other 3 games we played from this company.

Really nice room. Lots of interesting puzzles. Didn’t find any overly difficult. Nice décor. Overall we (4) had a great time and didn’t get stuck anywhere for too long. One thing to note - this room is not accessible to mobility impaired.

Fun room. A bit on the easy side and very low tech. Still fun with plenty for everyone to do. Very intuitive puzzle flow. Game master was excellent.

Very underwhelming. If this is your first room, you will probably have a great time. Very short and very easy. Had an okay time, but certainly did not get my money’s worth.

Note - I played this one at the previous location, but I believe it’s the same at the new location. This room was okay. Very dark (lighting not theme). Old eyes like mine may struggle. We did have a hiccup where one of the puzzles did not get reset, but the game master paused the time and got it reset for us. There was one physical activity that was very time consuming due to what I’d call questionable design, but I do appreciate them trying to do something new. Overall, not one of my favorites, but still a fun room.

Incredible. Not as hard as we made it out to be.
Frankenstein Escape

Waaaaay harder than it had to be. Really cool theme with a ton of puzzles and no hand holding. Not very modern - almost completely physical locks. I did enjoy the experience, but be warned, it is absolutely an expert level room.

Did this one with the family, including a 7 and 10 year old. We ran through it very quickly but had a good time. For us, it was a bit on the easy side, but for beginners, this would be an excellent room.

I found the room to be challenging, but mostly due to the amount of puzzles and, for a few, kinda poor design. We were a team of 4, 2 of which were in their first escape room. Most puzzles we had no problem with, but there were 2 that had some, I think design flaws is the beat way to put it. We had to get help with those 2 as there was no way we would have moved forward on our own with them. Overall, great room and great experience. We will be returning for other rooms.

Setting was nice and the set was very thematic. They game felt nice; however, it was not a good game. Several things were broken. The GM had to interject with what should have happened and then (I suppose) manually trigger things. Most of the puzzles made no logical sense. While neat, there was never a logical connection as to why they were there. I’m pretty sure there were at least 2 puzzles that we skipped right over. If they were to fix everything, I’d say you might have something to go with. As is, I’d have to give it a big not recommend.
