Sassafras Saloon

This was one of my two favorite escape rooms ever played in my life, out of… 50 or so? The other one was another room here. It was heartbreaking when this placed closed. I have never seen such innovative clues, breathtaking and immersive design, and impeccable game flow. We had a group of 8 people and every one of us was busy and challenged and delighted the whole time.

Clues and Wits goes down in history for me as one of the most interesting escape room companies in Southern California. The owner at the time was ambitious, passionate, and very vocal about her fight with her business partner. Big yikes. But this room was incredibly fun. It was packed full of cool mechanical puzzles that required team work and logic. Fun moments throughout. Probably a few two many puzzles but that’s a good complaint for me usually. Sad that this company did not make it, but glad I never again have to be begged after an escape room experience to listen to an escape room industry drama.
