I did the Western room after asking two employees for their recommendation for the room that was the most fun. This was the room they both independently recommended. I specifically asked the first employee (he was at the Highland location) if it was one of those rooms that just use a bunch of boxes and combinations. He said confidently, "oh, no, it's definitely not one of those." Well, it was. There were at least thirteen different locks--seven that needed a key, one that needed a word combination, one five-digit code lock, and five four-digit code locks. And although only two of them were attached to boxes, the rest were attached to cabinets and drawers (and doors). And there were a couple clues we solved but didn't work because either the lock or a door was jammed. So the entire thing was just a find-the-right-four-or-five-digit-code fest. Most of the clues were pretty elementary, and the more challenging ones required a bit of a leap. That kind of room used to do it for me, and maybe it will do it for you, but there are escape rooms that are far better. This would probably be a good room for the uninitiated, but for the rest of you, look elsewhere for companies that provide escape rooms with a bigger variety of puzzles, interaction, and gameplay. Also, this was the first escape room I have ever been to (and I've been to escape rooms in nine states and two in Rome, Italy) where they did not take a picture of my group. Even after just two of us got out of the room in 41 minutes. (We did use one clue but only to learn that we had already solved the puzzle but had been mislead about what to do with it--something our gamemaster admitted afterward mislead a lot of people) They also did not ask for a review. So this is my free gift to them.

A gen one room that is well worn in. Every puzzle is a code or key to a lock. The real puzzles are figuring out which lock the key or code goes to. A decent first room if you want to get someone into the hobby, but at this point, you might as well play anything else thatβs rated well if you want them to love escape rooms.
