Occam's Apartment

Whether you played the original years ago or never have heard of this game, Field a group and gear up for the beginning of an epic tale. Chapter one is fun, innovative and imaginative. This game is fun a little scary. But you’ll be fine. Enjoy it.

Easily our favorite game of 2023; uniquely immersive — doesn’t feel like you’re in an escape room, which immediately causes you to rethink all previous escape room experiences and appreciate the level of care and design of this room.

Off the Couch is a very very unique company, not only are their rooms all really well done, interconnected, and beautiful, but they feel refreshing. They don’t all just feel like escape rooms, the set, the complete absence of traditional locks, the technological implementation, everything makes them feel like more than just an escape room. This could be a detriment to some people who may prefer the more standard escape room experience but I personally loved it. The set of this room actually feels like you’re in an apartment, not just a living room or a bedroom, a full blown apartment, and is very well done. The room is theatrical, including the fairly brief interactions with a live actor don’t worry, he’s mostly friendly. This place also does bookings very differently…you book a set amount of time and then if you don’t use it all they refund it to you in the form of credits or cash back, which is really cool. TLDR: OTC is a fantastic hidden gem, great sets, good puzzles, very theatrical, just awesome, go play all their rooms.

Love the game so much and chatted with the owner afterwards, the story telling is the key and attention to detail, so far on my top list, looking forward to chapter 2.

Occam's Appartment is a hidden gem in South Bay and easily one of the most atmospheric rooms I've played. The way OTC is using branching choices, custom elements, and more makes for an incredibly unique experience. The puzzle design and environment were solid, and the way you can "bank" time for the next room if you finish early makes you feel like you got your money's worth no matter how long the experience takes. I wish it was advertised a bit more that this games does have spooky elements and a few mild jumpscares - so make sure you are prepared for that because we certainly wernt. However, if you can handle that, the Apartment is absolutely a room you should make the trip for.
