I think the room had a good aesthetic, and I liked the lighting and atmosphere quite a bit. The props were neat, and it had a spooky vibe. There are jump scares, but it’s mainly reliant on being loud more than anything for the most part. We had 2 technical issues, one of which required a total of 3 staff members to come in and try and fix it. They were unable to fix it, so they had to tell us how to solve it, but the issues caused us time delays since we tried that step earlier but it didn’t work, and we needed to solve it to move on. The puzzles didn’t really flow together in succession, so it felt a bit messy when we proceeded to each additional step and didn’t know what to do next. We needed them to tell us what to do 2 or 3 separate times, 1 of which led us to realizing one of their props was broken. The others felt a bit messy, as I stated and I need to ask them when I’m back later tonight. The game master also mentioned that we didn’t need to check a huge prop because it ‘didn’t really have anything on it’, so we ignored it, but it was mainly a red herring. There was vital things we needed on it. That’s probably still on us though for not confirming until nearly 15 minutes in. This was my 49th escape room and it didn’t really offer anything I hadn’t seen. It was enjoyable, and I do think most groups would have a good time playing it, and I think groups would jump or be spooked, but I’d personally give it a 4/10 and ranks 31/49 on my escape room list. Im doing another one of their rooms tonight, and I’m hoping it’s a better experience.
We ran into quite a few hitches but a few of them were self-caused. Others were technical issues. The flow was a bit weird and some of the puzzles were a bit confusing in their relation to the game, but that may be because of our tech issues too.
It has a pretty great horror aesthetic and some pretty dark mood lighting. You can’t use your phone flash lights and have to try and find the actual flash light, which we desperately needed at one point. Needed some help finding it since we were almost entirely in the dark for one step. I liked the use of sound and colored lights to help immerse you though.
This was my 49th escape room, and I ranked it 31st on my list. It’s hard not to enjoy an escape room though. It was fun, but I’d maybe recommend trying one of their more reviewed rooms first. This one is new, so it’s bound to have a few errors to work on. It’s a good room for Halloween time, and groups will enjoy their time. It has a nice aesthetic, good lighting, sound, etc, but the 2 technical errors and our personal flow being broken by staff coming in kinda dulled it for me. Im doing another room at their location in a few hours, so I’ll have a direct comparison very soon.
Story was decent. Kinda straight forward but enough to push the room along.
Medium
We got out with 4 minutes left but I don’t think it was as difficult as we were making it out to be. We overlooked a few major things and that wasted a lot of time for us.
Mechanical
They had some neat use of mechanics with lighting, sound, and reveals, but nothing I haven’t seen.
4
We only had 3 of us and escaped with a few minutes to spare, but we also tripped up on a few steps that we shouldn’t have overlooked. But we also all have 30-50 escape rooms under our belt, so I’d say 4 is a good number.
Spooky
There’s a very loud sound effect that they used a couple times that was enough to drop me to my knees and cover my ears the first time because of how loud it was. Otherwise it wasn’t really scary, but there’s some things meant to make you jump sprinkled throughout.
14
There’s some loud noises and imagery, so I’d say 14. I am 22 years old for reference.
Yes
There were two elements that were broken for us, which broke the flow a bit. The employees had to come in and try themselves, but couldn’t get it either so they just gave us the information we needed and we moved on. The other had to do with something being pushed in a certain order, but the sensor for one of them was very broken. We knew what to do but I think they activated it from behind the camera once they realized.
