My group had the most fun playing this room! This room is the second part of the story to Jazz Parlor. It was cool to see how the story unfolded.

The strength of this room lies in the story, which you play through thematically-incorporated puzzles. They do a lot with a small space, and our GM created an immersive experience with his character. Really enjoyed it both the room and the overall experience.
Again Laszlo was top-tier as a GM, keeping the character, bringing us in to the story and handling the few tech issues with aplomb.
Hard
The main storyline is moderate difficulty. If you finish early, there are bonus puzzles which flesh out the story

Your experience starts in the lobby, and this rooms gets a a lot of value from that… The room itself is old. I believe it was one of EMRs first. Very Gen 1. Lots of combination locks and locked boxes. Nice set, though a little cluttered, but that was appropriate for the theme. The story was also a little thin. The game was “about” opening everything that’s locked. A small room too. We played with 5 and it was difficult to navigate around each other. Would have been better with a smaller group. I’d recommend 2. I liked the game, but I liked the others at Escape My Room at lot more.

If I could give this game a neutral rating I would. It’s a great beginner room with locks and keys. Light immersion and story. Skippable in my opinion. Keep the group small.

This was one of the first rooms EMR did, and it is great. It’s mostly boxes and locks, but there is some tech along the way too. We didn’t realize it, but there’s actually a second game within it if you solve the exit quick enough. We solved the exit, but didn’t win the bonus game.

We are a family of four with teenagers and consider ourselves intermediate in ability. This is a “must do” in New Orleans. The entire place was obviously intricately and skillfully designed and built. Complete immersion from the entry to the lobby to the rooms. Game master was incredibly attentive. We did 3 rooms there in a row and Mardi Gras Study was a good introduction to the overall theme.
Just wow. Would give 2 or 3 more hearts if I could.

None in the room, but the game master was in character from the moment we arrived.

But nothing in the French Quarter is easy to find. GPS got us near and it was well marked on the outside.

No on-site parking, but a list of pay lots nearby in downtown NOLA was on their website.

“The room was delightfully quirky and not like anything I’d ever seen before. “
“The Mardi Gras Study’s mechanisms were a solid execution of a standard escape room“
