I'm a big scaredy cat. I looked at all the reviews and I was kinda scared that I'd freak out in this room. Honestly, not too spooky at all. No creepiness from being antique or old. Not really any blood. The spookiness is probably on the equivalent of going to a Halloween store. Somewhat glad for this though. I think that room was pretty fun, I don't like to use hints but there were some puzzles where my group just didn't know what to do, and that was mainly just because the puzzles were unique. None of the puzzles were stupid/unfair, there was a very standard flow to everything. Puzzles were both linear and nonlinear, and there were a handful of riddles, which actually take thinking to solve. GM was very welcoming and friendly. It was $40 and had tax in addition which was somewhat on the pricey side but I think this room just really felt like a standard good escape room. This room is considered one of their harder rooms, but I do think it was pretty medium level.

Good story and design. This room is primarily puzzles and number/word locks. One key lock. It’s possible to have low lighting and atmosphere and still put light in the right places. This room failed at that level. When you solve a puzzle but struggle to enter the correct number in a lock because you can’t see the numbers, the designer has let you down. A little strategic light would go a long way to keeping the atmosphere spooky and allow a lock to be easily opened.

I did not know this room is supposed to be scary and I only found out like 30 seconds before I came in LOL. Had a lot of fun! Chill GM, cool puzzles, surprised to have completed it with 3 hints and in a group of 2 lol

This game had a lot of potential, but ended up being disappointing. The puzzles were loose and clumsy. Similar word puzzles were used multiple times. There was a glitch in the room that wasn’t explained. I hope that company can clean up some of the game. Overall, the room looked good but that’s about it. This seems like a great place to take beginners or have a birthday party

We loved this room. Played two others at Red Door the same day, and this one was superior in every way. The atmosphere was great and a smidge creepy, and the puzzles were varied and challenging, but made sense. The two of us finished this finished this room with a couple of hints and a few minutes to spare. Overall super fun room.

Decided to give this room a try due to recommendations. I am glad to have played it, I thought it was a good price with two people. The game was super hard and there were many puzzles, which is why doing it just the two of us was difficult. If we had one or two more, we would have definitely escaped. Me and my sis were used to the puzzles but one or two of the puzzles/clues set us back and we should have asked for clues accordingly. I really liked the spookiness aspect of it, I do not think it was scary. The game master was extremely nice and we decided to ask him again for the second room later that night. I really like the flow of the game many different aspects of it and would recommend it to more seasoned players, 2-4, but the game master did say some newbies have escaped but they had many players. I like the story and how it connects with the other room escapes, so if you played more than one room there, more will be found out.

Fun room but my least favorite of all the Red Door rooms. It seemed like when you were getting close to the end there was a new room with so much more to do. Slightly higher difficulty and would recommend for a team of four experienced players or six plus less experienced players.

This was our first escape room. The movie in the beginning to tell the story totally confused us. Once we got started it was a little better. The clues were a bit hard to figure out. But then again this was our first one. I’d go with something easier for someone new to escape rooms.

Decent game that was better than expected! Very traditional lock heavy game that sometimes has too many locks that could be for your code. However still a solid game entering the nightmare of a girl. One jump scare but not scary. GM and hint style takes aware from immersion but this is what one would expect from a chain escape room. Nothing in this game is going to wow you if you are a vet but still I enjoyed this room mostly.

The experience at Red Door Escape Room was noticeably one at a franchise escape room. The room lacked some refinement and soul that you get with self built rooms. The intro to the story was told via a video, which confused more than anything, and the story couldn’t really be followed in the game itself. It seems like there is a lot more potential in the setting, as anything could be possible in a dream world, but the spaces felt quite mundane with very ordinary objects. There’s one puzzle in particular that felt tedious, where you knew what to do but didn’t really enjoy doing it. In general the solutions are less the “Aha!” type and felt more like “Wait, that worked?”, so the whole experience ended up being a bit unsatisfying.
