“I’ve done two Escape Game rooms. One in Vegas and one in Atlanta. This ATL one was WAY better. But partially I think it was better because my friend and I had a private room in ATL while in Vegas we were lumped in with the most random collection of characters, some of whom never seemed to have done a 12 piece puzzle. I understand that’s not specifically an issue with the Escape Game. But I don’t LOVE that they don’t do private bookings with small groups. Most escape rooms companies provide that these days.”

“Is it possible to give a room two hearts?!? After more than 500 escape rooms, this one continues to be in my top 10. The escape room world loves a scary/horror theme which is why I appreciate rooms like this...purely undeniable fun. I think this is the best room at The Escape Game! We got such a thrill trying to finish in time, and made it out with only six seconds left. We played as a group of two which was really challenging. I also have to give TEG staff a huge shout out. We've played all of their rooms by visiting 13 locations (including playing a couple of games twice) and the staff has always been very consistently awesome. We've received at least three cards from employees for various occasions we've celebrated with them...hand-made cards, super sweet! Even though this is a franchise, your experience will NOT suffer.”

“This one was harder than I thought it’d be. We got a little twisted and the background noise messes with you when it comes to a particular puzzle, but man was it fun! If you like intense and suspenseful, you’ll like this one! We escaped with 6 seconds left!!!! 😅”

“Probably my new favorite room I’ve done… the 2nd one I’ve ever done being my favorite for a long time. The story, the puzzles, the clues… the set. Man, it was cool. Loved the immersion and the twists! A few things you don’t see coming and loved the ending! Wish I could do another one like this!”

“This is honestly my Favorite Game in Breakout Games. It is the most technology forward of the ones that I have played with them. If you love the game Clue and escape games then this is must do. It is quite fine. We did it with 2 people but would be easier with at least 3. Not super hard, it is just FUN!”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
