Murder on the Orient ExpressEscapology Gainesville FLEscape roomIRLThe overall experience was pretty bad. The room was visibly very well designed. That’s the one thing I love from the room. Some of the first puzzles were different from any I had seen. Then it went downhill quickly. The puzzles started to not make any sense with nothing flowing together at all. Once we figured out the confusing puzzle, the room completely broke. The owner and employee came into the room and started to pull apart the TV to fix what was happening. This just really threw us off since it took us out of the story and wasted a lot of time. The owner also was just standing there watching us while the employee worked on getting the room started again. After all of that, my group had a hard time getting back on track. Then the room started to get really hot. We were on the last puzzle (which was very dumb), there wasn’t enough clues to actually help us solve it on our own. The game master had to give us some of the answers. Overall, I’m not going back to an Escapology again. I’ve had other issues with different rooms at this escape room franchise. By the end, we were all frustrated about how everything went and the employee did not make it better. “This escape is suppose to be hard and make you want to give up.” (Our game master). It made us even more upset to hear that since none of us had agreed that an escape room should want that.
