At The Hop Ice Cream Shoppe
Dare 2 Escape
Escape room
IRL
A solid date night room for a couple of enthusiasts. Wouldn’t recommend for more than 3 due to the tight quarters. We assumed this was Dare2Escape’s family friendly addition to their lineup, but I would definitely not consider this a family room (for more than just the small square footage). Puzzles were challenging even for enthusiasts, kids will have a tough time in this ice cream shop(pe). In typical D2E fashion, there is some blocks of text to read and the plot centers around the Tillman family (though this seemed like a little bit of a stretch). Overall, this room is nothing that will make your jaw drop but it is a solid 75 minutes of puzzling in a light-hearted, fun atmosphere
Cutthroat Cavern
13th Gate Escape
Escape room
IRL
The hype is real!!! This is easily one of the top 3 games in the country. The best set design we have ever seen… with things we’ve never seen happen before. There’s a lot to do in this room so bring an experienced team and don’t be shy to ask for a hint… you’ll definitely want to see the whole experience!
Dark Lullaby
Escape Artist Greenville - Hampton Station
Escape room
IRL
Dark Lullaby broke our top 5 out of 180!!! Such a fun, immersive game with many fun (and scary) moments. The best room in SC!!
Escape Operation: End Of Days
Mission Escape Games - West Hartford, CT
Escape room
IRL
Not bad- definitely packed a decent amount of puzzles into a small space. No wow moments or big reveals. Set design is good but nothing too exciting. Wouldn’t play with more than 2 people. Experienced teams will fly through this room
Help Wanted
Escape Artist Greenville - Hampton Station
Escape room
IRL
Totally immersive from the moment we walked into Escape Artist Greenville’s door- Similar to The Bureau in Orlando. Great use of live actors. Some really cool moments and good use of tech. Still a couple semi-frightening (fun) moments
High Speed NYC
Exit Escape Room Miami
Escape room
IRL
Pretty decent. We had a couple reset errors but the gamemaster recovered well. Definitely keep team size down to 2 for enthusiasts.
Neighborhood Watcher
The Escape Ventures
Escape room
IRL
Such as fun game. Perfect execution with a live actor. Rode the perfect in-between of funny/scary. Great immersion, fun moments. Would keep team size on the smaller side- 2-3 would probably be best.
Outside In
Top Tier Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
Outside In was a fun, funny, cute, unique adventure from beginning to end. Though we’ve played 200+ escape rooms, we’ve never played a game similar to Outside In. We really enjoyed the humor, varied puzzles, and fun ending to Outside In. For enthusiasts, I would keep the group size on the smaller size (2-3) given the linear nature of the room. For newbies, 3-4 would be ideal. There is one puzzle that was a little “guess what the designer was thinking” but the solution does make sense. Overall, Outside In was a solid room with several unique elements- play this game if you’re in the area
Possession At Haddon Heights
The Bureau Adventure Games
Escape room
IRL
Unique theme, immersive environment, some fun moments. Could have been pretty immersive and scary, but we had a tech failure so the GM had to come into the room. But otherwise, was a great room
Smoke & Mirrors: Houdini's Final Escape
Escape Hatch - Orlando
Escape room
IRL
Overall a pretty good room as long as you are not allergic to large amounts of lockboxes. Though there was some tech involved too. Had s couple of cool moments and some decent puzzles. We definitely didn’t feel immersed, though I can see if you have an enthusiastic gamemaster it might be a little better. Worth checking out if you’ve already played Orlando’s heavy hitters
