The Ministry Of Peculiarities
Escape room
IRL
So this room, or should I say company, did it. This was my favorite experience to date. From the main host being an amazing actor at the beginning and things begin as soon as you fill out your waivers and get inside. The experience felt immersive theater mixed blended with the escape room murder mystery feel. This room lived up to the hype and what a great company. My goodness this was so fun and right up my alley of how I would like things to go. Story telling from start to finish. I’m so glad I got a chance to do this room was some great company. The actor in this room made this room so fun. Be prepared to independently think because you may not get to rely on your friends for very long. The more you put into this room the better it is. Well done.
The Man From Beyond
Strange Bird Immersive
Escape room
IRL
I’ll need to make room in my top five again for Strange Bird. From the lobby to the gameplay everything was great. Madame Daphne was great and pulled you in to the immersion immediately. Some very cool scenes and props that are one of a kind. Not a typical escape room and more immersion theater but was a perfect blend of puzzles and theater. Some will say the price is high but plan on an hour and a half to two hours. It’s a great game and must do if you are in the Houston area. By far the best one I’ve done in Texas so far.

40 Thieves
MindTrap Escape Room - Temecula
Escape room
IRL
This is probably my second favorite room, first for set design and tech. We played with two people. It is a 70 minute room. From the time you sit to listen to the intro to the ending you are immersed in the story. It’s such a beautiful room. I am a huge fan of multiple rooms in one experience and this didn’t disappoint. We were really in awe of the complexity of the puzzles and how simple they were at the same time. The interaction with the shop keepers made the story. This is a must play. There is a lot to do so bring some people that can communicate. Two people can do it but you have to work fast and communicate.
The Treehouse
Confusion Escapes
Escape room
IRL
Wow!!! So many good things about this room I can’t put it all down. Please come do the rooms at Confusion Escapes they are fantastic. The Tree House is easily in my top 3 rooms I’ve ever done. The craftsmanship of the decor to the magical puzzles was amazing. It is possible with three people but no less than that. There is so many fun things to do that the theme of this room is amplified by being so immersive. I love this room.
The Weeping Witch
Cross Roads Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
I’m no stranger to Crossroads games but got to play the new Weeping Witch. This game is a spooky game and so much fun. There were some challenging parts and some very interesting puzzles. The theme was fantastic and the live actor is a very welcome addition to a crossroads room. This room is one of the best ones I’ve done and my favorite along the horror/spooky themed. This room is a must do. Beware the crying.
The Last Supper
Quest Tavern
Escape room
IRL
This room is great. You kill a lot of your time interacting. But man the more you put into this the more you get out of it. It was so much fun. Again not the most high tech room but it was cool and one of my favorite rooms for the change in traditional “escape” room.
Stash House
Stash House
Escape room
IRL
This has been on my to do list since they opened in January 2018. I was so excited to play Stash House today. It’s a ton of fun and doors kept opening and the space kept expanding. The room flows very well. The theme is great. I would have liked to have seen one puzzle changed because I had to keep hitting repeat and have to replay the whole sequence over again but it was still a fun puzzle. There a couple things that need to be changed but certainly lived up to the hype. I loved this game.
The Hex Room
Cross Roads Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
I’ve done the Hex room a few times with different iterations each time. Your group will make or break this experience. And if you don’t know what you are getting into, every member of the group will have to sink or swim. Success relies on all. The props are very well done. One of the coolest concerts I’ve had the pleasure of playing. Very different from traditional escape rooms. Communication is key. This room is always being changed and elevated.
Irvine School Of Wizardry And The Dragon Wand
Hidden Donkey
Escape room
IRL
This game was my wife’s favorite. She is a huge Harry Potter person and this room did not disappoint. We have done numerous “magical” rooms but this one is truly “magical” with the amount of tech and cool puzzles that kept you immersed in the story. Very well done and by far our best “magical” themed room we have done.
Headcase
Breaking Point Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
The first introduction we had to Breaking Point was with Headcase. Headcase has some cool tech and a decent twist towards the end. I really enjoyed how well done these rooms are at Breaking Point. Some of the best in the Inland Empire for sure and everything worked as it should
