The Spanish FluEscape HatterasEscape roomIRLThis is the only escape room on the island, but they act like they have competition. This room is small; we had six people and were too crowded. Puzzles are good, nothing groundbreaking, and the story is satisfying. Their implementation of the pigpen cipher is kind of clumsy and bugged me, but only because I was already familiar with it (the staff member was not). The other room (lighthouse keeper) is far superior.
The CureBond's Escape Room FairfaxEscape roomIRLI played this room several years ago and found it clever and not too hard, especially if you have some science knowledge. I liked how it was two rooms, with a possibility of your group getting separated. It sounds like the room has not been kept up, so probably better to go with one of their newer rooms.
