Blackwell Manor
New Mexico Escape Room - McLeod Location
Escape room
IRL
A fantastic game who's theming kept us engaged from start to finish. You can really see the care in every part of the room. It was just spooky enough for us!
Chasing Hahn: The Heist Volume 1
The Escape Game - Online
Escape room
Virtual
The first online room I played. Interesting, but now that I have played others (and designers have had more time to innovate on the idea), not particularly memorable. A fun thing to do solo, but there are better digital experiences out there these days.
Detention: One Last Day of Summer
Armadillo Escape Room Adventures
Escape room
IRL
A fun room, but surprisingly tricky! This is a facility that is making rooms on a bit of a budget compared to some large chains, but they are doing well with what they have. Not the flashiest, but definitely a room for people who enjoy a challenge.
Deuces Wild
Frisco Escape Room
Escape room
IRL
A great room with a fun transition. One of the few "break in to a place" rooms that really felt like a break in that I have played.
French Quarter House Of Curiosities
Clue Carré
Escape room
IRL
My favorite game that we played at this location. The room is themed for the city without being too touristy, and the puzzles are well integrated into the space. I really enjoyed the first set of puzzles, where you can work several of them at the same time and/or in any order.
Gold Rush
The Escape Game Houston - CityCentre
Escape room
IRL
Middle of the road for The Escape Game, but still quality compared to your average room. The setting and props are high quality, and the puzzles are all well themed for the room.
House Of Eternal Return [Immersive Art]
Meow Wolf
Escape room
IRL
Not really an escape room per se, but more of an art installation meets immersive mystery. The House of Eternal Return has a way of making you feel alone in a lot of spaces even when it's packed. Some extremely memorable spaces and art pieces await, and the story is pretty rewarding, if you take the time to read/watch a lot of it and get invested in the fate of the family
Mission: Mars
The Escape Game
Escape room
IRL
A fantastically themed room! I rarely visit rooms with a larger group, but this one was tackled with my in-laws and we all had a good time, from fanatics to escape room novices.
Pirate's Plunder
Trapped Puzzle Rooms - Audio Escape Adventure
Escape room
Virtual
A virtual room that uses the non-physical space to include a wide cast of characters. The humor in this room was great, and getting to "escape" by interacting with a village full of pirates was a lot of fun.
Playground
The Escape Game Houston - CityCentre
Escape room
IRL
Truly a unique experience, and one so large and collaborative that I have played it twice with two different groups! It's got a theme that isn't completely novel, but the execution is top notch.
