The Asylum13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLGreat theming for this room. Very large setting and it was very well done with some great sound effects and vfx. This definitely stepped up the immersion. Fun intro and definitely got your blood pumping. Some puzzles were very fun and well themed. We had to break out and rescue a girl out of the asylum. It is supposed to be a horror room and it did not have the overall scary vibe we were expecting based on the hype. There were a few clues that required a bit more lighting and involved colors and that stopped us up for a few minutes. Some issues with communication with GM. Could be because they switched halfway through the room. Not sure if that is something that is usually done. Timer started before our audio finished so we lost a few minutes there. We did finish all the puzzles however there was a lot going on with this room that left a sour taste for on the experience. Still a nice room!!
The DollhouseBlack Cat Escape RoomEscape roomIRLBlack Cat Escape 🐈⬛- The Dollhouse. July 15th 2022. Great story and great puzzles. Some very inventive ones! Awesome theming, everything including the timer was perfect! Not that spooky at all. You can choose you levels here from easy to hard. We had four minutes left and only used one hint on the hardest level. Agggaaatthhhaa!!! Shout out to Jess for killing a bunch of puzzles and hugging the bunny, Matt for breaking some stuff, and Mike for getting on the floor and solving the word riddle! I got to place the final picture! Plus we made the ghost laugh quite a few times. We even got to see the control room! 56:00 on Hard #weescaped. Overall 🔑🔑🔑🔑🔑
Magic LampGnome & RavenEscape roomIRLI think the only negative thing I can write in my review is that I can never experience this for the first time again. The staff was incredibly helpful. Came out in costume and had an accent. Held it the entire experience. Such a great choice. From the moment you walk in the room you are transported into another realm! Such swonderfjo use of scenery!
The Stray Cat SpeakeasyBlack Cat Escape RoomEscape roomIRLOne of the best lobby’s around. Truly something worth checking out. Such a friendly staff, our GM Olivia was so great. Personable and such an exuberance for the game. A nice little entrance to the room that actually was a bit more involved than you were made to tau. Nicely themed. That is something that is really done well at Black Cat. YYou can tell they love their work. The only issue with Speakeasy rooms is that puzzles tend to fall into five categories: money, dice, drinks, poker chips and cards. This room is no different, however there were some novel a approaches to these well used puzzles. The card puzzle was particularly fun and interesting.
The Tomb RuinsGnome & RavenEscape roomIRLThis location is easily one of the best escape rooms around. While their Genie Room has garnered so many accolades, I can say without a doubt that this was my favorite room yet. For me an escape room is meant to offer that brief respite from everyday life. The puzzles and settings are supposed to transport us and Gnome and Raven certainly does in every room. In the Tomb Ruins the only thing I get like I needed was a hat and a bull whip. It is that immersive. Such a wonderful job. I am so sad this was our last room there!
The AtticEscape2WinEscape roomIRLThis was next level theming. We had the opportunity to watch this being built over the months and it did not disappoint. It definitely had a nice spooky fee and there were just enough jump scares to make this more horror themed. There was also one amazing detail that we were asked not to reveal. But it was worth the wait!
Tomb Of Anubis13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLThere was a lot of anticipation and lead up to this room. It was our 4th room of the day, and we admit we were a bit disappointed after the morning session. Anubis did NOT disappoint. It has won several awards and I can say it definitely deserved all of the accolades. The puzzles and theming fit perfect. There was a journal that ran you through the room and it was also done very well. The reveals in this room are the best we have seen so far anywhere. This was an amazing Indiana Jones type adventure. We escaped and found out that only 5% of first timers have completed the room. Our GM Caitlin was fun to work with for our last room of the day. Would love to have more time to really explore the room. That is my only critique for this room. There is so much going on and you are so invested in breaking out that sometimes you don’t get to stop and enjoy just how beautiful the room really is. Puzzles were a bit on the difficult side at times and possibly a bit more abstract than a straight forward room however we were able to figure most of them out. We were given warnings in most of the rooms that the iPad they used for clues was not working properly and that they were trying to phase it out. This is actually a positive because the rooms that it did work in really took away from the overall aesthetic. Plus it uses QR codes and literally puts the code near the puzzle. Glad they are looking to phase that out. Definitely worth the trip!

Ghostly EncounterEscape2WinEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun room. Had a few twists that might get some newer players but overall it was extremely fun. The theming is impeccable and the theatrics in the room were spot on. As always, everyone here is so friendly and welcoming! Truly one of the best escape rooms around.

Lovecraft is not a topic that is usually covered, so a nice break from the normal monster room. Nice slow burn in the study. Just a large covered shape that let your mind do the work for. Easily one of the most fun endings around.
