Carnival Of Curiosities
Escape Southend
Escape room
IRL
A fun game. Played with parents who aren’t massively into escape rooms. Was lots of fun, quite low lighting at times but makes it more fun. A good twist on the carnival theme
Chaos at Calamity Mine
Tricky Escape Clacton

A very fun room. I’ve never payed a mine room before and I enjoyed this very much. The story line was quite straight forwards as you had to escape the mine and there wasn’t a development from there but there were enough puzzles to keep us having lots of fun. You need good communication with your other team members in order to escape this room and all puzzles are easily understood, no red herrings. The hint system is always very helpful at this company and the game masters always take the absolute best care of you which I love
CSI - Mafia Murder Mystery
The Panic Room Harlow
Escape room
IRL
Overall a good room. As said you need to take notes throughout the room in order to aid your experience and not get lost. There is a good twist in what the actual task of the mission is to do which was good than just a mafia escape room. Some of the photos were tricky to understand which we informed the GM of and that set us back a few minutes through discussing potential thoughts. Time passed quickly and enjoyed it.

We were due to do this room as a 4 however circumstances meant we were participating as a three. This slightly eliminated the element of racing against each other, however we were still racing against the time. The company were fantastic when I contacted them about changing from 4-3 players. There was an open air vent which turned throughout the room so at times it was hard to hear the comments from PP. We enjoyed this and often knew how to solve the room, it has fun twists through the room. You could be an adult and still enjoy the child like tasks which are in the game at points. As always their puzzles are puzzles which you know instantly how they link to things. I believe we only got stuck once in the room due to us not fully exploring the room. But other than that the flow was very good. Games master was helpful when we needed it and we always enjoy companies which have a clue system instead of just giving us a clue.

Game master was not great. Ruined our experience. Gave clues without requesting to the point where he gave answers when we just discovered a new puzzle.
Dream Portal

We played this game as a group of 2. It was doable as a group of two and there was never a moment where we felt like we needed more hands. The room had a nice flow to it and the set design was wonderful. It had a lot of detail to it and time has clearly gone into the room. There was a slight technical difficulty with one of the puzzles and the games master was efficient in sorting this. I played both of their rooms and I preferred this room, the story was very clear and all tasks leading to our escape was evident.
Dr Wilson's Office
Escape Live - Southend

A classic standard Sherlock themed game. Good set and props to fully immerse you. I was in a group of 4 and escaped rather quickly so wasn’t too challenging but the puzzles flowed well into each other
Heaven And Hell
Cambridge Escape Rooms

Overall was my top game which I’ve done so far. The theme was cohesive throughout and had a clear story. I was never stuck on a puzzle I had to just think differently, everything made logical sense. A perfect mix between electronic and manual locks!
Ice Cave
Daydream Adventures

We played this room second after the Forrest and this certainly had a fantastic set design. The props and electronics were certainly amazing to look at. The final puzzle was defiantly worth the wait. I was stuck on using one of the electronic puzzles and wish that the puzzle contained slightly more information on how to use it, however afterwards the games master was happy to discuss it with me. We played it as a group of two and due to the open space I believe that it is more aimed at groups of 4 because there are activities which all could do. Overall a really fun room to participate in and was happy to say we escaped!

A fantastic room. Saw lots of great reviews about this and had to do it on my visit. I loved every moment. Puzzles are tricky at times and you have the true meaning of an escape room here where everything you see is a clue! The best set design I have seen on a room.
