Magic KingdomMaze Rooms VermontEscape roomIRLOne of my earliest games played and still one of my fondest escape room memories. Whenever I find myself explaining what an escape room is all about, I often find myself using this game as a reference point. It’s certainly on the higher end of escape rooms (they must have had an amazing budget) but I think it’s a great example of escape room potential. Maybe not the most challenging game out there, but certainly among the funnest and I wish I could play it again for the first time.
Operation: D.B. CooperNW Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLWe always have a great time at NE Escape Experience and operation DB Cooper was no different. I love when companies lean into local lore and the search for DB is great story to tap into. We played as a team building exercise with a mix of experienced players and first timers and everyone loved it accross the board. An excellent Pacific Northwest game.
Sissy's SaloonEscape Rooms NewportEscape roomIRLThe location was very cute and the set design was very good. The GM was extremely nice and welcoming as well. Overall, it was a great Newport experience. Our group of 4 rather enjoyed the game. 2 of us have played 75+ games and thought that maybe In a larger market Sissy’s Saloon might not stand out, but as a Newport experience, it was perfect. That being said, we took 2 friends who had never played a game before and they had an amazing time and have become hooked on escape games since. Where I may have rated this room a 7/10, they gave it a solid 10 and couldn’t have been more excited to return and play other games. Escape Games Newport seems to be a great company and I look forward to playing more if their games when we return to Newport.
The Fright Before ChristmasParadigmqEscape roomIRLThis is a cute thematic game perfect for spooky season. Lots of locks but well clued so you’ll be fairly certain of which lock needs which clue. We enjoyed it with 2 adults but I can see this being a fun family Halloween activity for some younger players. Extremely Generation-1 but well done, cute and a charming set.
