Ghost Light
Myss Tic Rooms
Escape room
IRL
This is one of the more unique escape rooms I’ve done, both with regards to theme and types of puzzles! It also delighted the theatre kids in both my partner and me. The setting and story involve ghosts, but it’s rather whimsical in its presentation, so it’s nothing outright scary. My partner and I were all smiles throughout this room, and it presented really cool and original stuff. I wish I could do it for the first time all over again, especially with more of my theatre friends! Our game master was lovely too! We’re excited to do more rooms here

We loved this room! But coming off of Ghost Light, our disappointment was that the room needs a little bit of care - it’s a bit worn and there are some automatic functions that could use a double check Atmosphere is great and some unique puzzles! You do not need an understanding of Stranger Things to enjoy or figure out the room.

This is one of the most unique escape rooms I’ve ever done, with some really satisfying “A-Ha!” moments. Really awesome game design and a cool achievement system that amounts to a checklist of report card objectives However, my usual escape room trio was joined by a much larger family of 8. They had a lot of very young children, which I believe is the draw for a family here that may not do escape rooms regularly like me. The result felt very chaotic to me, so my enjoyment was definitely affected by it. (At one point one of the children re-locked one of the cabinets … I don’t know how, but it happened, and we couldn’t find the key again lol). And alas it’s VERY expensive to book The Escape Game privately. So if you’re going to do this one, try to do so on an off week and an off day. Or assemble your own decently sized group to stave off others who may be in this for the playground itself, and not the escape part

By far one of my favorite escape rooms I have done. Extremely well realized and conceived, with a fantastic flow. This room is also very puzzle and lock focused for those who really vibe with that. The room is also multi-tiered which makes it feel very dynamic, and little things like a scent diffuser in the entry room make it not just immersive but pleasant! My trio is very expended in escape rooms, so this was not particularly difficult for us, but the flow is excellent, and sometimes it feels really awesome to finish in less than 40 minutes feeling smart as heck “The Escape Game” overall is a super strong brand, and I recommend all their rooms as some of the best ever. Love this brand.

This escape room feels like two separate experiences linked together by plot. I personally enjoyed the first half more. The second half becomes very high tech, and it’s just not my personal jam. The second half is impressively high tech, though some of the puzzles feel like trial and error. The second half also becomes tricky to find stuff to do if you’re a bigger group, given the focus required on the main puzzles

One of my favorite rooms I’ve ever done! And of the escape rooms I’ve done where you are separated a the start, this was the best executed. Requires great communication and teamwork, so make sure to bring a team that has worked together before. We were a team of 2 (and got lucky that we weren’t joined by others), and found that we barely escaped simply because this escape room is very extensive. It ends up being more puzzling than you might expect. But everything is extremely well paced and logical, and there are a few very nifty puzzles I’ve never encountered before in other rooms Every room I’ve done at The Escape Game has been superb, or nearly. One of my favorite companies. I recommend this room only if you’ve done escape rooms before (not a good beginner room) Super awesome decor, and high quality facility overall

This room exceeded my expectations on all fronts. I’m also an escaper who tends to enjoy hi tech / sci-fi rooms less than others, but this may have changed my mind. I did this room with just one other person, who is also a pretty experienced escape game artist. It was pretty ambitious of us to tackle this as a pair, and I definitely frantically had to beeline from end to end of the room. But it was a blast, and very very challenging, but never obtuse. Up there with one of my favorite rooms I’ve done.

This was different and fun!! But I personally prefer a more cerebral experience. If you are an avid escape room fan, don’t go into this expecting puzzles and locks (etc). The experience is a series of mini games with relatively simple tasks offered with limited explanation, so it’s on you to figure out how to play the electronic game within ten minutes. One of them in particular was more difficult than it needed to be simply because the censors you have to scan with your wristbands had seen better days, which made for a more frustrating experience than necessary Still had a great time though! But escape room junkies like me might be a little disappointed

Walking out of the elevator, I was immediately impressed with the hallway and lobby. A lot of time and care has been put into comfort, spaciousness, and ambience. All the GMs we spoke with were also very enthusiastic and accommodating! What I loved most about this room were the unique clue mechanisms and associated props. Given the Houdini theme, there are plenty of locks throughout, but it’s not always keys you’re looking for. It’s a great variety of puzzle types, and many of them are multi-layered in pretty ingenious ways. Nothing felt unfair, with some great a-ha moments and surprises. I really liked this room (and company) a lot!

Escape May Overall: I have been going to Wildwood Crest / Cape May just about every year since I was a kid, so it thrills me that there is a really high quality escape room company in my favorite place on the Jersey Shore! This is truly a family operated business with the help of very close friends, and they are all incredibly warm and inventive and enthusiastic. Their rooms are very high quality, challenging, affordable, and inviting. I was not expecting as great an escape room experience as I was at Escape May This Room: I actually haven’t done many medieval themed escape rooms, so this was a treat! Of the escape rooms I did at Escape May, this was my favorite. The decor is very immersive and the puzzles inventive. I felt very fairly challenged and my group of three (which included one newcomer to escapes) felt it well constructed for dividing and conquering. I highly recommend this room
