509 escape rooms
Passcode Pawn Shop is a classic escape room for small groups of enthusiasts and moderately sized groups of newcomers. The environment is far from realistic, but it’s a fun place to puzzle with oversized decals and cases full of merchandise. Aside from one particularly exciting moment, the room is emotionally level, with little in the way of a story arc. The puzzles are average, with some fun ahas but also some frustrating moments as well. When it ended, the gameplay simple stopped. We thought there was more to do, but after some confirmation we figured out we won. While the ending is humorous, there could be a climatic puzzle that really connects to the story or at least provides some closure. Even though it’s not particularly special, it’s still a fun game that I enjoyed playing through with my grandmother.
Gameplay
While it wasn’t anything special, there were a few classic escape room moments that were fun.
Atmosphere
It doesn’t really look like a pawn shop, but it’s a reasonable recreation of one.
Customer service
Our gamemaster was very energetic and exciting, but hints were heavily delayed.
