This is one part of our two part experience, The Academy Of Spells. Play one game as a team or split your team in two and play both Mystical Critters and The Elixir Vitae as a head to head experience where only one will be victorious and the other trapped for good!

Played as a team of 2. Another great room from Break escape. This is the second part of 2 part room. We played the first part when it first opened about a year ago (second room wasn’t open then) and have only just made it back. It was worth the wait. Great setting and props which is expected from Break escape. Nice mix of Non-linear and linear (concentrate on one critter at a time). The experience made better by our GM Tim. Very welcoming and remembered us from our other visits. Defo recommend doing this room.

We’ve played both parts of this, and they’re great fun. Sets look great and puzzles flow nicely. Our favourite games at this location

Part II of the academy of spells. A mix of linear and non-linear puzzles worked well for us. A bit more thinking required than part I. Worked ok as a four. Would be doable by two.

Gameplay

This is Part two of academy of spells. We did them straight through as one longer room. The puzzles in this room were a little more challenging to us than the elixir vitae, but because there were more non-linear aspects, we could divide and conquer to do it quickly.

Atmosphere

Set design was good. A fun entry into the game that requires a little play-park mentality (for the adults anyway!)

Customer service

Again, this game hasn’t been open long but GMd nicely. I can’t remember whether we asked for hints or not.

Was anything broken?

No

But… considering this is a new room, one of the puzzles performed a bit badly because of the temperature. We discussed this afterwards and the GM said she’d report it to the owners.
