Rock 'n roll legends and Tacoma natives, Grit City, are set to start their North American tour tonight at the Tacoma Dome. The show is sold out and everything has to go off without a hitch. With almost an hour before hitting the stage, it comes to light that the band's guitarist lost his lucky guitar and they are refusing to play without it. As the old saying goes, the show must go on! Rockstar was a great little gem in Tacoma and definitely worth the trip out of Seattle proper. The game flow was incredibly smooth, and the puzzles were a perfect balance between tough and fun. The owner, Daniel, was also fantastic and great to chat with before and after the game. Definitely recommended!

Wasn’t for me; I didn’t enjoy the room. Some of the puzzles were just not fun and by the end, I was just ready to go. I feel like I needed to have some experience with music to really understand some of the puzzles. The room was well put together and was cleaned. The GM was nice and helpful.

There were several puzzles that I just blatantly found tedious and not fun to play at all. I also found the room too linear as well. Overall, the room was nicely put together and the puzzles were logical, but I feel like I should have had more knowledge with music to do well with the room.

The room was nicely put together and looked great. I believed it as a backstage area.

Imani, I'm so heartbroken to hear that you did not have an enjoyable experience playing Rockstar. I tried my hardest to create a fun and challenging escape room experience that is fair for all players regardless of outside knowledge but it looks like I may have dropped the ball at some point if it left you feeling like you did not have the necessary tools to succeed. Please, feel free to shoot me an email because I would love to know more specifics on what you struggled with so that I could improve my game for future players! I don't know if you know this, but on the booking website, I have a note about potential accessibility concerns and a note to let us know if you have any accessibility issues. For the puzzle I am pretty sure you are referring to, there is a tone-deaf friendly version of the same puzzle available upon request. Just something to know for next time or for anyone else reading this reply that might need similar accommodations :)

We had a fantastic experience here. The game was very well done. The puzzles were fresh and the set design was excellent. The owner, Daniel, was also our game master and his passion and love for escape rooms shines through in this game and in our conversation with him. It makes such a huge difference when escape rooms are designed and run by enthusiasts.

Very awesome game! The story is unique and the puzzles were fun and challenging. Added bonus that the owner and GM were incredibly nice and cool! Excited for new games to come at this spot!

Gameplay was AWESOME! Loved the variety of puzzles and how thoughtful and challenging they were. It flowed well and were on point with the theme. Appreciate that it even tied to the city were in!

Atmosphere was really great! The room was on point with the theme. Felt immersive with props and items to use. The story itself was unique compared to the typical stories I’ve played.

Sam and Daniel (owner) were so friendly and down-to-earth! Sam was a helpful GM while Daniel was really great to chat with after the game. So nice and very passionate about escape rooms so I appreciated that.

I thoroughly enjoyed this escape room. The puzzles were fairly diverse and just dense enough to make everything feel involved without being overwhelming. I highly recommend going here.

The gameplay was very novel and fun, and a lot of the puzzles had interesting concepts that I haven’t seen often in other puzzles.

The simplistic nature of the theme made it very easy for the atmosphere to really pull you into the idea that you are backstage, without needing too much convincing. Fantastic concept.

The GM and owner were fantastic people and extremely good at what they do. Normally interacting with a GM when needed can pull you out of the immersion, but it felt very natural for this room.

This room was chalk full of a lot of ideas and clues that were very much present throughout, which made it feel really good when you were able to connect everything together slowly.

The story is very different than your usual escape room and gives the players a real sense of why they are doing everything they are doing, which some escape rooms forget to do.

The puzzles are not the hardest puzzles, but their variety combined with their creativity makes this room a very enjoyable experience.

We’ve been to escape rooms all over the northwest, and this was by far the best we’ve ever been to. The puzzles were original and very well thought out. The whole room was challenging and imaginative. There were lots of fun ah-ha moments. The design was creative and thematic. Daniel was enthusiastic , fun and helpful. Daniel is an escape room genius. We loved every minute of it.

We have done over 20 escape rooms and this is one of the best! We loved this experience so much! We havent ever done any like this and it was so well done! You can tell how much time and energy went into making it. So creative and unique and the best part is the owner/game master was sooo nice!! Hidden gem for sure!
