A woman named Josie has recently passed away, leaving behind a storage room filled with decades of collected memories and cryptic secrets. Remnants of her entire life are all here in one place - left for you to discover. As a young girl growing up in the 1960s, Josie was gifted a tape recorder and began documenting every part of her life. But in her old age, she has become almost unrecognizable, warped by the tragic events of her past. The Nest is an intimate, live experience for two audience members at a time, combining elements of immersive theater, narrative video games, serialized podcasts, and escape rooms into a new way to experience a story. Equipped with a flashlight, search through personal effects, explore your surroundings, and listen to audio cassettes to piece together the dramatic narrative of Josie's life.

The Nest is an emotional rollercoaster that surrounds you with the ephemera of a person’s life as you experience the highs and lows of their story. In terms of puzzles, there’s maybe two or three interactions that qualify; however, if you are looking for a game, you’re missing the point. The set is abstract, ever-morphing, deeply immersive (smells, smoke, and a variety of intimate scenes), and yet truly easy to follow. Your next step is obvious, but the experiences that await you never are. The Nest marks a way forward for escape rooms: emotion catharsis and truly impactful lessons delivered through immersive environments and intentional interactions. This should really be saved for one person or a close couple. Leave groups for the escape rooms. You may cry. You’ll almost certainly feel something profound. You will definitely remember The Nest long after you visit.

It's more of an immersive experience than an escape room. We solved it with a team of 3 people

Once again, I am asking you to experience The Nest. There's not much to add that isn't already in the sea of glowing reviews. This is an immersive narrative experience that is only replicated in video games such as Firewatch (2016) or Gone Home (2013). Only it's actually real. My advice for bringing others is asking: "Would I play a single player video game with this person(s) on the couch?" I personally went solo as I formally created adventure video games and would be insufferable to anyone else. :3

This isn't an experience to "win" and is designed for you to experience the story arc.

The experience was built for single player, or with folks that can comfortably play single-player video games collaboratively.

There are moments where you will need to duck down into a smaller space, but at your own pace and not rushed.

What a beautiful moving story. It was so emotional and so incredibly immersive. One of my top new favorite experiences. Truly breathtaking journey.

All right-I won’t spoil anything! Promise. Go with the idea of a space between an interactive play or close up magic show and the pirates of emirates. There are clues along the way that tell a story and emotionally engage your senses. You shouldn’t read too much about this place, it can ruin what it’s meant to be like-unknown(ooooooo) So, I wouldn’t take a kid. I’d go with only one other person- and just be into it. The end is worth it alone!! I left satisfied and super glad I did it. Game master was engaging, nice and played the part well.

Not an escape room, like others have said, but it’s AMAZING. It’s meant to be an immersive theater with a few puzzles for interactivity. Would not recommend this for people looking for a rush of the hard earned escape. Only do it if you really care about story, & immersion. The set piece is amazing, the story was moving. Overall though it’s a must do for what it is.
Not an escape room but has a few puzzles to help the story along. The story is the biggest thing about this other than the set piece.
The set even before you get into your storage unit is awesome. Best I’ve ever seen. It meant to be spooky but for me it is.
Liv was amazing. Not only did she accommodate us in a great way (that she didn’t have to), she was so kind and great as our gm.
Yes
This is not an escape room. Very similar structure but it’s meant to be an interactive story. I really felt like I was in a story not a game.
Emotional. Although I didn’t cry if I did this by myself I may have.
Easy
The puzzles are just meant to add some element of interactivity I think.
Mechanical
There’s some mechanics
1. 2 at the most but it’s expensive for one so it can be done with 4. Again it’s not an escape room.
Spooky
It’s not meant to be spooky but if you’re like Shaggy from Scooby Do (like I can be) its scary and spooky.
14. Will be scary for small kids but not meant to be that way.

Team of 4, it was a bit of a squeeze but we didn’t mind. It’s essentially a storyline-heavy escape room, there are no live actors. Great production - impressive use of set and gating with tools to control flow through the experience. Recommend.

While this is not an escape room per se, it was the most immersed that we’ve ever been in another world. Beautiful story. Completely immersive. Best production I’ve seen. Highly recommend!
