The long drive has taken the last ounce of energy out of your group. Your car slowly rolls up to the run-down driveway. If it wasnβt for the large red neon sign that reads Motel Betty, you would have missed it in the thunderstorm. Your group makes your way inside, only to find an empty front desk with a keycard that reads "011." Tired and not wanting to look for somewhere else to spend the night, you grab the keycard and head through the dark corridor. Little do you know, this will be a night filled with horror and insanity.

Fantastic room. By far the best out of the 3 we played on 8/11/23 at this location. Solid puzzles, great use of the space, just enough NPC interaction to create tension and a fantastic, excitement filled finale. Play this room if you don't mind horror. They give a LOT of warnings about its scare factor but it's really not thaaaaat bad.
So so good. Only one thing in the room felt kind of unfair.
Absolutely perfect, set design was incredible, use of space was great.
NPC was fantastic.
Scary
The use of the NPC was just enough to create tension. The puzzles force the team to isolate and split up throughout the entire game, there are several points where claustrophobia is a big factor.

Without Spoiling anything: Epic game, maybe the best escape room in Toronto, and surely one any enthusiast in the city must do. Really good use of a live actor in terms of a horror game. Great set, good tech. Go play it. My personal criticisms, the fact that i liked it so much is the reason why i am also so critical, because i hope they take it to the next level in their upcoming room. -They shouldnt give you any backround story in the beginning other than the fact that you take refuge from the rain in this motel - everything else should be uncovered naturally! -The puzzles: alot of clever ones, but some were janky, more of your classic escape room puzzles, that can often times have quite abstract logic - the puzzles should originate organically, "mimetically", from the set. The best puzzles were the ones that involved a degree of terror to them, that seperated and isolated the group, that meshed with the setting. -The hint system could be frustrating to use -More scares! and there were lots of scares! but i think they could have even ramped it up. -The second half, though having some great moments, also got a little cheesy, in narrative and in puzzles, and kind of broke the seriousness which seems crucial to the sense of horror.\

Motel Betty!!!!! I have done 100 escape rooms and this one is a stand alone horror themed room for me!! Wow!! I loved this room so much! It is big, scary and so much fun! Completed it as a group of 2 but would be great with a large group! If you are looking to be scared, challenged, and have an awesome time in a well designed room with great game flow and a staff that obviously cares about you having fun, book Motel Betty!!!
The live actor element in this room is hands down amazing!!! Well done on design and implementation of an NPC that really make the room!!
Wonderful set design overall! Practically everything flowed seamlessly other than one spot that felt a bit out of place but I didn't even care, it was a fantastic room!
The best! They guys obviously care about customer experience!

I cannot say enough about this room. It is immersive, rewarding, incredibly scary, unique, itβs in the elite tier of rooms that has everything you could ever want. I. Was. Terrified. Super unique puzzles, the effects are next level, everything was in great condition and worked perfectly. This is a room everyone needs to do. And itβs 2 hours!!! Plus about 3 hours of recovery time π But honestly the time flew by and we enjoyed every haunting minute of it. A+++++
Fantastic. One of the best rooms in terms of natural flow.

I really wanted to like this room more than I actually did There were some really fun puzzles that fit the theme quite nicely, but there were also some puzzles that felt random and janky. The puzzling experience wasnβt as cohesive as I would have liked it to be. I played in a group of 6, and there were some moments where 2 people were figuring out a puzzle, while the others were standing around. For a 2 hr room and for the price we paid, I would have preferred more actor interaction. The times the actor did show up were fun though. The hint system would have been great IF we could hear what was being said. There is an automated, audio hint system. There is also spooky music plaything throughout the room. When you dial in for a hint, both the music and the hints play at the same time, so it makes it quite difficult to discern what is being said. We had some tech issues, but the GM gave us some extra time to compensate for them. Overall the experience was fine. Worth doing for sure, especially since itβs slim pickings when it comes to actor-led horror escape rooms in the GTA.

I love longer rooms because it really makes you feel immersed. Our group also loves rooms with live actors because it really made the room. Probably one of the more spookier rooms Iβve done but the storyline was great and immersive and the puzzles made sense to fit the storyline the whole way through.

This was my 115th room that I played and it has been a really long time since a room made it to the top of my favourites list, but this one certainly did. Having 2 hours to complete this room allows you to fully immerse yourself in the environment, you stop thinking about time and really get to enjoy the experience that the room offers. The puzzles within the room match the theme perfectly! The room features many unique and thought provoking puzzles which span across many different puzzle types, so whatever your strengths in escape rooms are, you are sure to find a puzzle that you enjoy. The scary atmosphere of this room adds so much to the experience and the live actor really pulls it all together. I can not recommend this room enough, especially if you are a fan of horror escape rooms.

Best room Iβve played so far. The storyline is great and the puzzles are all unique to the story which keeps it immersive. The live actor was a wonderful touch. We played as 6 people and all had something to do. Weβre currently the fastest group to escape!
