The Mischevious Nisse

Cute little single room with basic mechanical puzzles. Fun for an hour but don’t have high expectations, especially if you’ve done other rooms before

10/10 do NOT recommend. This room was just all bad. From the start with our GM who went off about the rules to his transition of being an elf was cringy. The final puzzle we finished but there was a defect so it was very anticlimactic. Save your money.

This game was just meh. I think the final puzzle was faulty and way too much to do. The game master was rude in a sense that the rules were “don’t do this or you’ll piss us off, someone did this last time and you guys just make our job harder” like what? Who just starts talking shit during the rules lol I’ve done about 60 games and this is for sure top 5 most disliked rooms.

Pretty easy game. Very cute though, and has a degree of charm to it. Is not friendly to large groups though, as the puzzles are more linear and the space will get cramped for any more than 2 or 3.

This is about what you would expect for a beginner/kid friendly game in a very touristy area. I brought my 8 yr old niece, and she had a lot of fun with some help. Staff was nice but unenthusiastic, and the introduction to the room was monotone and rushed. I think explaining what a “nisse” is (like an elf or gnome) would have added much more. The puzzles were fun, but the props were quite worn. There is a decent flow to the game, and it wasn’t difficult to figure out what to do next. I think for beginners or if you have kids, this will scratch the itch. Plus it’s in a great location right in town.

Didn’t love the “welcome” from the GMs. They went on and on about the rules and how players make things harder for them and piss them off. The elf acting job was kinda creepy too. The room itself seemed a bit old and dilapidated but still was a Christmas themed room which we wanted to do. The end didn’t work quite as well as it should. Bottom line…if you really want to do a Christmas room in Solvang, then cool as long as you know these things. If the Christmas theme doesn’t matter as much to you, might want to skip.

This room had its ups and downs to it. Given the space, it was pretty well put together. Some of the elements were both informational and kind of cheesy in the charming sense. Staff was indifferent to us being there and didn’t seem to enjoy themselves working. Room was a single space and one of the puzzles was pretty tedious. But, if you’re in the Christmas spirit, give it a shot!

Perfect game to play in Solvang! Cute room and charming puzzles. The puzzles were easy, so they were appropriately challenging for the first-timers in our group. This would be a great room for a young family as well.

Solo’d this room! No hints used. Maybe one of my top 10 rooms ever. The theme is so unique and cute and appropriate for being in Solvang. Not only will you have a blast solving puzzles, but you will learn about the Danish folklore surrounding Nisse! My favorite out of the three rooms.
