82 escape rooms
I could tell a lot of love was put into this room, and for the most part I enjoyed myself, but there were some places where I found the room missed the mark. THE GOOD 😊 Hooray for 2 player friendly rooms! The scary escape rooms in the GTA that have an NPC require at least 4 people. As someone who prefers to play rooms in a group of 2, it was so great having this option available! I was quite spooked in this room (although I get scared quite easily). The NPC did a good job! I enjoyed the puzzles! The puzzle flow was linear, and the space was on the smaller side, so that is something to keep in mind for larger groups. We had some tech issues where our correct answers wouldn’t register, but luckily it didn’t happen too often. THE MEH 🫤 The storytelling could have been MUCH tighter, especially since events in the story are needed to solve some puzzles. Once we did our post game debrief and learned about the end of the narrative, I was confused as to how we were supposed to pick up those convoluted story beats while naturally moving through the game. Our pre game intro and our debrief was delivered through a text-to-speech voice recording, which I found quite jarring. The actual in-game audio narration was great though! This room has multiple endings, but that wasn’t communicated to us until our game was finished. I wish we had known beforehand. All in all, I had a decent time and wouldn’t hesitate to play another room at this company.
