Battle Of Xu'Qua

If you have a good group you will have some fun in here. Luckily we had the most open minded group and we had a great time with the challenges!

My partner and I played this game back when it was still in it’s beta stage so not sure how much of it has changed. Back then we were able to choose to a certain character (reminded me of DnD) and we were able to incorporate that into our experience. The set design for this game was amazing and there was a good amount of puzzles. Would consider attempting this one again to see what has changed but enjoyed it then and assume it’s just as good now!

Set: Really nice, with lots of detail. A little bit too dark. Puzzles: Kinda of simple and very linear. No way to work on more than one at a time. Had side-quest puzzles that were impossible for me or Laura to read in the provided light. Some satisfying, and some a little dangerous. Enthusiast: Nothing here for an enthusiast to seek out, but worth doing. Me: I had a few good moments but mostly was idle due to lack of ways to work on items in parallel.

Puzzles were just okay in this one. Some parts were entertaining but the flow was kind of weird. Plus it was difficult to see in one of the rooms so without help we would’ve have known where to look.

I love what this place stands for as my fiancé is a teacher and I’m studying education to be a teacher. These rooms are created by a group of educators, who also support students studying as well! As far as the room, it seemed very dated. There are side puzzles along with the main story, but they don’t allow you to run down your time to do the side puzzles once you complete the main plot. The puzzles were dated and nothing super exciting, and things just looked cheap and rushed. I think the story could be really great, maybe just needs a bit of updating.

This game was unique in good and bad ways. Some puzzles were out of left field and really fun, but the set was hit or miss. An experience you won't forget - not sure if that's good or bad.
