The Bayou: The Legend of the Midnight Raven

The Bayou was an awesome experience. The writer really created a whole backstory to this room (and others). Felt more like you were stepping into just one chapter in a larger story. Puzzles were challenging, but attainable. Thought 4 was a perfect number for the room.

This room has incredible ambiance! It’s clear that the game designer is passionate about what he does and is very talented. I thoroughly enjoyed this room and would highly recommend it!

You can tell the owner loves the stories behind his rooms, the story is VERY in depth and intricate. The opening video itself was a good 5 minutes, might have been less but if you love escape rooms for the story of the room, this is your place to be! I saw a lot of people review that its a lot of reading, it can be but if you don’t want to do all the reading theres pretty blatant context clues your looking for so its really not much reading, more skimming. Decor and immersion were good in this room! Pretty average as far as looks wise goes. As well as the first part of this room is more completing tasks that are asked of you rather than looking for puzzles, which we enjoyed it just got a little confusing at times, along with the hint system can be a little confusing. We were able to escape with 2 of us with 30 seconds to spare!

I enjoyed this lengthier 90-minute escape room. We played with 2 people and escaped, so probably wouldn’t be too challenging with a larger group than that who is good at escape rooms.

Great room but it malfunctioned for us in certain parts. It happens with rooms some times :)

The first half of the room was by far my favorite! There is a lot of automated narration, so pay attention the first time because doing things over to review the clues eats up your time. The second half of the experience was not our favorite and required a ton of reading, which is very frustrating when you’re on a time crunch. My husband has done nearly 200 rooms and I’m close to 150 so we have a pretty good feel for pacing ourselves. This experience had enough puzzles for two typical rooms so you’ll need to hurry faster than you think to finish.

Recommended for experienced players or larger groups. Another high tech room. Did feel like there was a lot going on and was easy to get side tracked. Overall a fun room and the owner of very nice as well as helpful.

This room was challenging. We did it with 4 people and barely escaped. At first I wasn’t happy with the help feature inside the room since I felt like it was cheating but after a while, I realized, it is necessary. The room is very dark and that hindered us a bit for some of the puzzles. The puzzles were very unique and did take brain power. Overall, I enjoyed all of the rooms here.

The game played more like an RPG. You wait for directions and do the task you’re asked. The second half of the room involves ALOT of reading. It was a snooze fest for us.

This room is very well done and extremely challenging. The room designer is amazingly detailed. You will be mentally exhausted by the end, in my opinion. This, in my opinion, is by far the toughest of the 3 rooms. If you do it with 2 ppl, you’ll have fun, but don’t expect to get out. You really need 4-6 here. The only negative with any of the these rooms, and I’m nitpicking here, is that the room designer enjoys using speakers. There is a lot of auditory listening involved and if you miss something, you have to wait for the entire track to finish and start over. This can be frustrating and really slow you down. Overall, I’d give this room an 9.5 out of 10.
