I wanted to love this room. I really did, the concept is so cool. Let me first say that the immersion in this room is absolutely fantastic, as well as the use of technology. The game master was wonderful as well. I absolutely loved the way they incorporated all five of your senses.
However, this is a very non-linear room, so it felt hard to start, and even the first puzzle that we did find, which felt like the best starting point, was unnecessarily difficult- we knew how to solve it, we didn’t understand why it wasn’t working. Because of this, it made it feel like there wasn’t a natural progression into a nice easy start to more complex puzzles, regardless of how nonlinear it is. Some of the puzzles just seemed unnecessarily, hard, and the fact that we knew what we were trying to do but the room was so dimly lit or things would go so fast, or incredibly tiny details that were so easily missed makes it almost not enjoyable.
Maybe because we only had two of us, more people might be a better experience. I really enjoyed the immersion and the creativity this room had. I just wish some of the puzzles were a little more understandable, because as we were going through, it felt like they were intentionally trying to trick you, even if you understood the concept so it felt a little defeating.
That being said, I will absolutely go back and try the other rooms.
