Mark as done to rate

Thrills and chills are the theme in this "little bit scary and whole lot funny" adventure game. You believe your friend was kidnapped by the Nightwalker Clowns who live in the Upside Down Caverns located below an abandoned carnival on the edge of town. You'll wind your way through the carnival searching for the hidden entrance to the Upside Down – then your group must find and open the portal which will transport you back to the surface.

They are changing this game in a few weeks. I would wait and play it then. It’s still very fun and the kids loved it. Especially the few unique parts to the room. 🤡

There were a couple unique mechanical puzzles and parts of the room which were neat. However, it did feel a bit homemade in terms of production quality. We were super excited to have an actor in the room with us, but he did not do much acting. He was dressed as a clown, perfectly on theme, but was a teenager who spoke in a normal voice. It would have enhanced the experience SO MUCH if he had spoken in a goofy clown voice. We were told he was our babysitter to make sure we didn’t break things, which would have been fine, but I felt that he constantly offered us unsolicited clues, which I think we didn’t need. I wish he hadn’t. So my overall enjoyment of the room was a little lukewarm, although it had the potential to be awesome.

Gameplay

I enjoyed the puzzles, some were more unique and interesting than others.

Atmosphere

Pretty large and immersive rooms.

Customer service

The GM was very friendly and enthusiastic and welcoming. The person who was in our room helping run it, though, was not in character as a clown and that would have made a huge improvement to the immersiveness of the room. He was just talking normal and we even saw him with his mask off at the end, which kind of took away from the mystique of that character being in the room with you.

The owner is an enthusiast and makes really cool high tech rooms. They are more in the advanced side but they are there willing to help you.

This was a fun escape room. Definitely one of the more unique ones I have played. It was also longer than the typical 60 minutes which made it cool. My only complaint is that the game master is literally in the game with you the whole time. But this shows you how challenging the room actually is. This room is not linear and there are many times when you can go astray. I recommend all of these rooms for how unique they are.

This is not your typical, get locked in the room, solve the puzzles and escape. You are locked in with a game master who is necessary to complete the puzzles. And the game master really drive the game play. Ours was really funny and really cool. Room was fun and had some really cool puzzles that were hard and challenging. And it was a good experience.
