It’s a shame because I really really want to like this room, and there is in fact a lot to like about it. I really did enjoy the introduction, story, and setup that leads to the next major, main section of the experience. Unfortunately, it becomes apparent rather fast that it also hasn’t gone through any rigorous or thorough play testing. What you “do” once entering the main room becomes overwhelmingly unintuitive very quickly. As of this review, the only major remedy to the confusion Escape Thrill seems to have come up was to label most everything of interest with a label maker. It’s clear people have been getting very confused with this one. We found out afterward it also has the lowest completion rate out of any of their rooms. People have said this room is difficult, but I’d say it’s not so much “difficult” as it was not well play-tested. With that said, it’s a fun and creative theme, and the puzzles that do work are very cool and relatively unique. However some puzzles were just such leaps in logic that you couldn’t possibly figure them out without assistance. Certain things outright weren’t working which wasn’t immediately obvious until the GM intervened. We were given extra time on multiple occasions as a result of this, and they did a great job of keeping us entertained and happy. The ending was also a fun little unexpected surprise and I’m glad we got to see it. I wouldn’t recommend this room until it’s gone through some more tweaks to find the sweet spot that ensures a smooth experience for all players, whatever your skill level is. It’s ALMOST there, but just not yet.
Frustrating and not very intuitive. It was trying to be too many things at once which made changing gears taxing and unnecessarily confusing.
GM was great and facilitated all problems and issues we had with the room.
Not so much “difficult” as it was not well play-tested. Some puzzles were just such leaps in logic you couldn’t possibly figure them out without assistance. Certain things outright weren’t working which wasn’t immediately obvious. Making you uncertain if what you did worked or not until the GM intervened

Relatively small space. 3 is ideal, 4 is pushing it.

A kid would enjoy the atmosphere at first, but become frustrated very quickly with how difficult and confusing the gameplay is.
Yes
Certain parts of the experience did not function as they should, which caused the GM to activate events anyway as a remedy to bypass the issues.

Was BEST room at Escape Thrill! Did for a friend bday and was sooo worth it. First, really well-done room and a very well-done room for "strip-mall" style Escape Room locations. So many innovative and new puzzle ideas, with much variety, and def. needed everyone on board and bringing A-game.
Yes
Completely new innovative idea and take on "Future scape" theme
Could have been more involved, but lots of great elements that played into it. Probably more details/unnecessary parts to the narrative.

Some glitches, but worked pretty well for the most part.

Lots of tech mixed with classic type puzzles. It was fun but middle of the pack.

For my team, it was our first time at Escape Thrill. We’ve tried a lot of other rooms in the area, and personally I can say that this one was one of my favorites! I’m not usually a fan of rooms with non-linear puzzle structures, but this one was super entertaining, as the theming and sophisticated puzzles went hand in hand with one another. Even though we were not able to escape within our time we came very very close, and our game master Anastasia was helpful throughout. Overall I would give the experience an A+, and would definitely return to play again!
The theme and gameplay was very fun, for someone who’s not usually a fan of non-linear rooms, once you got the groove of this one it was very good. Even though it’s considered medium difficulty, I found it quite challenging, the room was very puzzle-heavy and really got you thinking and using your heads collectively as a team
The atmosphere was top-notch. You start out in an elevator which you have to escape from to enter the actual room, the lighting is low, but the decor and the atmospheric music really made you feel like you had been transported into a top-secret lab.
Our game master, Anastasia, was absolutely fantastic. She was super helpful when it came to providing hints and was enthusiastic throughout our time there.
Yes
The concept was top-notch, not one that I had seen before in the area and I would definitely bring friends back to play it again.
The story was fantastic, the team did a great job of integrating the main story into the atmosphere of the room and into each puzzle you had to solve in order to further your progress.
Hard
I wouldn’t say it’s quite expert, but I would say that the room is definitely above the medium notch difficulty.
High tech
This was probably one of the most high-tech rooms that I’ve seen, which was fitting for the theme of it being a top secret science lab. There were a lot of contactless devices, including a tablet that you needed to use in order to solve a photo-sensitive code cipher.
3
The room is fairly small, so I would say that 3 would be the most comfortable number. Although as stated before it’s very puzzle heavy, so the more players, the more time you save.
Not scary
It wasn’t scary, but the atmosphere was still very good.

This room is definitely not ideal for very young kids, the puzzles are complicated and are better suited for children who’re older.

Not a lot of physical activity, but it was definitely a mental workout.
The room does include a few ledges build into the floor that you have to step down or up onto.

The location is near a central highway and pretty easy to find.

There’s lots of parking around the location.

You leave the room saying “that wasn’t bad” and not “wow that was amazing.” They spoon feed you what to do with lots of laminated papers taped around the room. Not bad for first timers.

This room is one of the smaller ones that I’ve played, but the use of space was VERY well utilized. The puzzles were more tech based which kept us on our toes throughout, and I appreciated the thought that went into each “wave”. Make sure you have at least one tech-savy teammate for this one!
