Ever imagined what the Rocky Point Park would be like today? Well, we did too! We’ve added nostalgia by giving you everyone’s favorite rides and attractions.
You have been hired as entertainment experts to approve the opening of a refurbished Rocky Point Amusement Park, a park that has touched many and has been in ruins for over 25 years. Rumor has it that the technology in the new park keeps malfunctioning, so keep your eyes and ears open. Can you and your team give your seal of approval to build the park or will the park be forgotten forever?

I really wanted to like this room, and at first glance the theme and set dressing are spot on.  However....

Even before the game we had some issues. There was a large group of girls arriving to do another room, so we were pretty much ignored until well after our scheduled time (15 minutes before their scheduled game). There was also some confusion as two groups showed up for the same game (one had gotten the days mixed up and came on the wrong day) which proved to be too much for the high school aged employee to handle (didn't seem to have a manager on duty). I ended up stepping in to look at the bookings and figured out the problem.

They then went over the rules, and even promised the group extra time if they failed to solve their puzzle in an hour. We then had to wait another 10 minutes after they went in before we got our rushed briefing.
 
The game has a bunch of issues. There are too many things crammed into the first small room. This leads to you needing to throw a ball above everyone's head at a reasonable force/speed. If you don't have someone athletically inclined then I would pass on this room. We were a two person team and wasted 20 minutes throwing the ball, each got hit by it bouncing back multiple times (most places with something like this would let the GM bypass this physical challenge to make the game more enjoyable, but not here). Hit the target a few times but with not enough force. This was after retrieving the ball by stomping on a board as hard as we could (should have been more spring loaded). 

None of the actual puzzles are very complicated. And you can realistically even skip one in the first room. After the first room the store "evolves" (or goes off the rails). We move into a haunted theme but it as you move through even that seems to get lost in translation. The second room is dark with hard to read words on the walls, and requires someone to reach into the bottom of a rollercoaster/sleigh style cart at an awkward angle and type in a code and reach into a box that opens.  Though compared to the first room there are only a couple things to accomplish in here.

The third room is the most straight forward, though not great on execution. You need to stretch colored strings between numbers, except the strings have some give one string worked two different numbers leading to a totally different final result. The room feels like a waste as there are only a couple puzzles using it (and again an awkward hard to see keypad to type into, at least this one is at a reasonable height).

The final room is where things get weird,  you are somewhat back to the fair theme but with somewhat circus themes thrown in along with an more weird feel instead of ghosts (just rather random). You have a bunch of clues thrown at you, but most of them are for puzzles you can't begin to solve yet (used to seeing this more in the first room than the last when you are likely already short on time as it leads to going down multiple paths you can't complete with no direction as to order). We solved the first couple puzzles of the room and got more pieces to the remaining puzzles when our time was up. We were then immediately rushed out by the GM with no real chance to ask questions just being told that it would make it more fun to do it again if you don't know the answers and we could get a tiny discount if we call to book the same room again (they didn't answer the phone that day when we called to ask about the room given it is carnival games and I have a bad shoulder) so not sure how that would work out. I am assuming we were rushed out given how late our room started, but we didn't run into others in the lobby so who knows. 

Overall, it just wasn't a positive experience for us. We left annoyed and in pain (myself from overuse of my shoulder throwing and being hit repeatedly by a baseball). It didn't feel like we were appreciated as customers (perhaps because they didn't make as much off a group of two compared to the larger group before/after us). We haven't been back since but likely eventually give another one of their rooms (would have tired their other location but that is now closed) a try when we run out of other rooms in the area.

RI Riddle Room will always have a special place in my heart. The designers, the staff, the atmosphere, everything about this company is incredible. Rocky Point Park is my favorite of their rooms (and I’ve done them all). Truly whimsical and nostalgic. Great representation of Rocky Point.

I love the handmade attention to detail in the Riddle Rooms I’ve played. I played this with one other adult, but I think this room would be equally fun for adults and kids to experience.
