The Ministry Of Peculiarities
Escape room
IRL
This is honestly my favorite room I’ve ever done. It’s unique, fun, gives you the ability to make choices that effects the outcome of the game, and surprises that kept us laughing (that might be our sense of humor but they are funny over here). If you are looking for a regular of the run escape room, this is not it. It’s immersive (in terms of interacting with people & the decor) and the out come of the game is different depending on how you go about certain things. I can not wait to go back and do this room again.

This room is awesome. It’s also huge. Perfect for big groups. Puzzles are smart. Not super difficult, but enough to make you stop to think about them. It’s big enough where you could not do half the puzzles and come back to do the rest. The owners are also rad people. Highly recommend

There’s nothing like Lab Rat out there. The story is insanely creative and cheeky. The decor is just as creative. Puzzles are unique. It’s a fun time. Highly recommend!

Truly a loss to the escape room community. These rooms were fun, creative, a great challenge and the story was excellent. We did the leave this room and immediately go into Chapter 2. What an incredible transition. Wish I could do this room again.
The Nest [Immersive Theatre]
Hatch Escapes - LA
Escape room
IRL
I’ve experienced The Nest twice. Once when it was in the creator’s backyard shed and once years ago (2020?) when it moved to its new location. It’s now under ‘new management’ so to speak so I don’t know how it’s changed in terms of being an escape room. When I went, it was a piece of art. Not a room to try to win or escape from. Art with a beautiful story and production design that made you want to stay in there forever. There are elements of unlock this padlock, etc but it’s to uncover more of a story. Not get out of a room. Long story short - go to The Nest.

Really fun room. It’s nice being given tasks to do aside from just “escape”. The set for being in a small space was impressive. There are different levels of puzzles -some easy some that took more thought. We rarely have 5 people in a room (usually less). I’m glad we did because there was so much to do. There were puzzles I never ended up touching but I was aways doing something. Our GM was also incredibly nice. Had a very fun time.
Atlantis: The Forgotten City
Hypnotic Escape Rooms
Escape room

It felt like this room just kept going and going. We couldn’t believe some of the decor was beautifully executed, puzzles were interesting, it’s big enough to go with a group to do different puzzles. The GM (owner) is incredibly nice and very proud of their work. And they should be!
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?
Maze Rooms West LA
Escape room

The twist of this room was fun as well as the design of the ending. It’s a pretty straight forward escape room beyond that. Had a good time, wasn’t difficult, it was fun seeing all of the details in the decor. They spent a lot of time collecting the period correct set dec
Wrongfully Convicted
The Escape Revolution
Escape room
IRL
The best part about Escape Revolution is how real their rooms feel. Inside the room felt like you were in a solid fortress. The jail cells were real, according to our game master. It’s a very fun room. Specially if you lean into the story a bit. There are Easter eggs for your group that make things feel personalized. The hint system is my favorite of any room I’ve done. I feel terrible not remembering his name, but our GM took it to another level. He was a blast. Was it worth $55, game play wise maybe not. But it’s respectful if they are paying their GMs properly. Also, just a reads up: parking is tricky. They only allow one car in their lot per room so make sure you plan that one out. They are on Melrose a block down from LaBrea so it’s definitely a busy street.
Chapter 4: The Courtyard
The Basement : A Live Escape Room Experience
Escape room
IRL
Out of all the chapters, this one is my favorite. Fun puzzles, large enough for people to separate. I’ve done this twice with two different groups because there were huge chunks I didn’t even get to look at. Love interacting with the actors. You don’t have to do the other ones for this to make sense. We did this with 5 people and a comfortable amount of time felt. Don’t remember exactly.
