Boda Borg Boston Quests
Boda Borg Boston
Escape room
IRL
Boda Borg is set up in an almost labrinth-like fashion. You enter one door and pop out down the hall, around the corner or even on a different floor. This layout kept access to the games flowing because one team wasn’t able to “hog” a room. Each room was designed with multiple sequential “levels” which would make subsequent visits fun and necessary to really master all the games! There is a wide variety of puzzles and skills (both mental and physical) needed to complete the games and each room has a completely different theme from the others! Honestly, this was one of the most challenging quest rooms I’ve ever played and it would rank in my top 5 if it weren’t so dirty. I’m not opposed to a getting my hands dirty but the place was filthy!
The Book Of Souls
Mystic Escape Room
Escape room
IRL
While at Mystic, we played all three of their games (The Pink Panther, The Amulet of Time and The Book of Souls). We are very experienced players and thought this room blew the others out of the water!! First of all, huge shoutout to the tech person because what the heck?? Some of the best tech I’ve seen in an escape room, rivaled only by Rabbit Hole. There are some insanely clever and immersive props and mechanics in this room. I don’t want to spoil anything but the tech is very advanced and totally unexpected for a “general public” recreational game! The puzzles were authentic and original (none of this number and key lock nonsense). A diverse and creative skill set is required to solve the room. The flow was great and kept everyone constantly moving and the puzzles were multifaceted! You know how some rooms feel like a plug and chug? Find a number sequence, find a lock. Get a key, find something to unlock?.. well, not this room!!! I really am still blown away by the creativity and diversity of the puzzles while still remaining cohesive with the theme! Well done Mystic!!!
