We have done approximately 30 escape rooms as a family and this has been one of the most fun and enjoyable adventures we have ever done. Amazingly immersive and detailed. This was a real life adventure game and immersive paranormal show all in one. The puzzles aren’t overly challenging yet everything is just. so. much. fun. Delores (Ms. Kuhn) was so Wright. I may be enamored with a spirit. 😜 The introduction with our contact (Agent Higgins I think) was the best lead-in to an escape game we have ever experienced. I simply can not wait to see what the Ministry of Peculiarities (MOP?!) comes up with next!
Time MachineNot Another Escape RoomEscape roomIRLDon’t judge a game by the first room. So much fun and “what! Wow!” moments. Flow was good. Puzzles were quite fun but not too challenging. There was some real magic in this room.
8-bit EscapeRavenchase: Escape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLAn amazing and nostalgic room - great puzzles and scenery. Although our teens didn’t exactly get the theming they loved the room and puzzles as well. The parents and adults found everything a joy and so much fun.
The NeighborSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLGood family fun. Lots of great tech and some interesting puzzles. We had a lot of laughs - mostly at our own expense- in this room. Can’t wait to do the others here.
Maritime MutinyRavenchase: Escape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLYes, another pirate room but as with all of their rooms I’ve experienced so well done, great scenery and props. Fairly standard puzzles with standard story but thematically the room did elevate the standard pirate escape.
Midnight In Hong Kong - Team Vs TeamOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLGreat competitive game for larger groups but the main puzzles can leave others left with only optional (but valuable puzzles). These optional puzzles allow a sabotage mechanic but it was difficult to divvy up the puzzles as they were assigned to individuals and it became awkward to support others if you completed yours. My coworkers had a wonderful time and this was one of the few escape games that could work with so many people. This was a great game - the set often looked overworked but everything was working and functional. Game Master was good.
The Black WidowEscape QuestEscape roomIRLRelatively simple but but we’ll appointed escape room. Fairly standard and simple puzzle structures albeit elevated by the decor. Small room with a decent end. Spooky but not scary. Think Addams family but little humor.
The Toy BoxZscape GamesEscape roomIRLFun, family friendly room. Extremely thematic puzzles and an excellent atmosphere. A wonderful thematic climax that recalls fond memories.
The Warrior's WayRed Door Escape Room ConcordEscape roomIRLNote that this starts as a split team room that requires a great deal of communication. Decent room but not great. Puzzles are fairly standard and relatively linear but very little sign posting - especially after the team is reunited. We tended to make the puzzles harder than they needed to be. Actually very good decor and props. There were clearly some puzzles that are not longer used that ended up causing us some frustration because we kept focusing on them.
Quest for the CrownExit 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLGreat family owned business that I am sorry to see has closed. Great interaction and tech throughout the room and fun thematic puzzles.
