“Simple yet amazing. I had lots of fun and will definitely be coming back. The puzzles and story were both fun. All the clues here made sense and the room itself was nicely designed. We managed to escape (that’s always rewarding) wedidn’t know it at the time but one of the clues she provided was a pinnacle moment to our game… we would’ve been lost in the sauce without it.”

“Great game. Probably not the best game for someone new or inexperienced at escape rooms. They say it has a 3% escape room with hints. Our group is fairly experienced and we were able to keep things moving and finished with 8 minutes left with only 1 hint. Experience helped. Communication skills are key.”

“Team work makes the dream work. This was the first game I did at The Sanctuary and it was a whole new world. The set was truly impressive. I would recommend doing any escape room with a group that truly works well together (communication, complimenting skill sets, etc) but with the rooms at this establishment success is truly dependent on this. I wouldn’t recommend going into any of the rooms here with strangers or as a first time escape room due to pure difficulty and volume of puzzles and things to do that needs to be effectively communicated.”

“With over 250 rooms played, this one is currently my favorite, or at least in the top 3 (it's so hard to choose). We aren't into horror/scary games per se. But, we have found that we do enjoy creepy rooms, and this one is definitely that. To this day, we have not seen game mechanics in any other rooms that Sanctuary employs in Seed of Hope. The puzzles are fantastic. The flow is terrific. The set and decor are amazing. The storyline and how they keep you engaged with what is happening is so good. We still talk about this game and compare all others to it. Sanctuary hit it out of the park with this one. Beware that there is some ducking/crawling and there are stairs. Not all players need to crawl or climb stairs, though. It is a four-person game, and you NEED four or more people. There is so much to do and see. I would LOVE it if at some point they would offer a two-person, two-hour experience on a weekday. Wishful thinking, I know. I have only replayed one game (Servants of Sleight). This is a game I plan to replay with friends that haven't done it yet. It's that good. Oh, and the staff are all so friendly and helpful.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
