“I usually don’t play rooms with 6 people but today was an exception. Each of my friends brought a friend and we had a group of 6… that was both a blessing and a curse. The ideas being thrown around about each puzzle were helpful sometimes and cacophonous at others. It did not sour the entire experience though. The puzzles were all memorable and a lot of fun to decipher, save a logic puzzle towards the middle that we spent TOO much time on. There were puzzles that worked with memory, sound, words, etc. The design of the entire room was incredible and it’s definitely one of the best I’ve played thus far in my escape room career.”

“We liked how the story felt more cooperative, and the experience was meant to be enjoyed together instead of divide and conquer. The set design itself was fantastic, has a Disney feel. The story felt like it was tailored for kids, but definitely enjoyable for adults. The puzzles are supposed to be enjoyed linearly, but there is room for divide and conquer if desired. Fantastic room.”

“We booked this on the spot after getting out of our first room Red Giant. There’s a “second room deal” wheel that we spun and we got $50 off for this booking. We couldn’t say no. The Perfumer has a dark storyline but is not a terrifying escape room. There’s definitely a lot more layered puzzles and we did a lot of crash and burn on some of them. They’re not impossible. We were amazed by the production quality of the set design and props. Especially the perfume bottles. The layout of the space was well thought out. Our host/actor , Ryan, amazed us with his French accent when we started the room.”

“This was the first room I’ve done with Quest. It’s location is a little sketchy so I’d avoid this location at night. The first thing I noticed when we entered the room was the production quality. The storytelling from our host/actor, Ryan, elevated this experience! Bravo! The puzzles were great but but most of them felt more like tasks. It was definitely on the easier side but it was soo much fun and satisfying. We also love Egyptian themed rooms and there’s not a whole lot out there.”

“Steele & Christopher were amazing ^_^ They both gave 100% of their energy into making the experience real. This is the most immersive & frightening escape room Ive ever done…. I was absolutely terrified. I was more afraid in this room than when Ive encountered an alligator swimming towards me and sharks swimming towards me in real-life. I thought the theme was interesting as well. We escaped with a group of 4. Out of 86 escape rooms Ive played, this is my new #1. I didn’t think any room could move “Pins & Needles” to 2nd place, but … this experience made me ….very aware of being alive …. It forced me into the present… and kept me there …. whereas other rooms allow you to dip into lulls”

“A really cool room. Great tech/mechanical elements. Cool atmosphere and production equality. I don’t recall the puzzles too well (completed in 2019), but I recall that there were some interesting ones mixed in.”

“Such a funny concept that only got increasingly more insane over time! Some puzzles took too much time to get through, but to counter that, this room actually has a 75 minute timer. The game flow itself was very fun, and every lock and step of the way felt natural. It’s not scary, but there are dark parts and some loud surprises. Thanks Grandma! Overall, a very fun experience!”

“Our GM Frank was a delight to have running our game. The game had very immersive set design and great puzzles that are integrated into the side. We loved those moments where we thought "they don't actually want us to ___ do they?" but the answer was yes and we were rewarded for it.”

“I was extremely immersed in the prison escape scenario, the set design was perfect given the story. As a group of two, we did not end up escaping, I suggest maybe a group of three minimum. The GM did a wonderful job. Definitely going back to do another.”

“Team work makes the dream work in this one. Go with exactly four people to maximize the experience. I loved the collaborative puzzles and story, with lots of challenging puzzles that keep things interesting.”

“One of my earliest games played and still one of my fondest escape room memories. Whenever I find myself explaining what an escape room is all about, I often find myself using this game as a reference point. It’s certainly on the higher end of escape rooms (they must have had an amazing budget) but I think it’s a great example of escape room potential. Maybe not the most challenging game out there, but certainly among the funnest and I wish I could play it again for the first time.”

“The Nest is an emotional rollercoaster that surrounds you with the ephemera of a person’s life as you experience the highs and lows of their story. In terms of puzzles, there’s maybe two or three interactions that qualify; however, if you are looking for a game, you’re missing the point. The set is abstract, ever-morphing, deeply immersive (smells, smoke, and a variety of intimate scenes), and yet truly easy to follow. Your next step is obvious, but the experiences that await you never are. The Nest marks a way forward for escape rooms: emotion catharsis and truly impactful lessons delivered through immersive environments and intentional interactions. This should really be saved for one person or a close couple. Leave groups for the escape rooms. You may cry. You’ll almost certainly feel something profound. You will definitely remember The Nest long after you visit.”

Unless you’ve visited Hollywood before, it can be hard to describe. It’s sunny, it’s wealthy, it’s full of diverse cultures, and at any given time you might see a famous person at Whole Foods. As you tour the many wonders of this desert dreamland, be sure to keep an eye out for Paramount Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and treat yourself to an In-N-Out Burger (animal style). Aside from these attractions, Hollywood is also alive with some of the most unique and immersive escape rooms in the country. It’s no surprise, given that the city’s name is synonymous with some of the most iconic films of all time. There’s a lot to take in, but if you’re looking to be the star of your own Great Escape, here are the best spots in town.
The escape room scene is alive in Hollywood. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Los Angeles in 2016, the film capital of the United States hasn’t stopped crafting these immersive puzzle experiences. In fact, Los Angeles proper is home to 49 different escape room venues. If you look around, you’ll notice several places that are expanding the definition of experiential entertainment in Hollywood. From the expansive Escape Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard to the innovative Escape Revolution on Melrose Avenue, there’s plenty to experience in the City of Angels. With over 170 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
There are plenty of awesome escape rooms to choose from in Hollywood. The goal of Morty is to make escape rooms more accessible for everyone to find and play. With Morty, you can: - Browse escape rooms anywhere in the country - Read reviews and ratings from other community members - Book a room together with your friends Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned escape room enthusiast, our aim is to help you play more escape rooms and visit more immersive attractions.
Most escape room venues don’t accept walk-ins, and time slots for popular games may fill up fast. Besides that, not every escape room is the same — some have varying difficulties, and you don’t want to get stuck playing a room that’s beyond your experience level. That’s why the best way to book an escape room in Hollywood is through the Morty app. You can get updates on new games, read reviews, compare details (including difficulty, theme, runtime) and plan an outing with friends, all on the same platform. You can even coordinate games with your friends collaboratively. Download the Morty app and book your adventure today!
